The Dolphins have been on a role of late and head coach, Adam Gase, has seemingly realized that QB Ryan Tannehill is not going to get any better, so instead they’ve developed into a run-first team.

Kickoff is set for 1:05PM ET with Tannehill under center for the visiting Dolphins, facing off against San Diego, who are led by the savvy veteran QB, Philip Rivers.
Miami Dolphins
Ryan Tannehill was once considered to be a solid project prospect, with a ton of athletic ability, a big arm, and room to grow as a QB after being converted to one mid-way through his college career.
Well, some things just don’t pan out… Tannehill hasn’t taken the steps forward many thought, and while not a terrible QB, he’s in year-5 and isn’t a top-10 in the league by any means.
Tannehill has a 87.4 passer rating, but has thrown just eight touchdowns compares to seven interceptions on the year. His 1,877 passing yards rank 22nd overall, and his total QBR for the season is 48.9.

The passing game of Miami has forced coach Adam Gase to switch to a run-first offense, and it’s paid of favorably for the Dolphins, entering week-10 on a three game win streak.
Jay Ajayi is the bell-cow back for the Fins, and since earned the lead-role he’s been nothing short of incredible. Ajayi has record-setting numbers over the past three weeks, with two 200+ yard rushing games.
The Dolphins defense is not as vaunted as it was just a few years ago.
Cameron Wake was one of, if not the, best defensive player in 2012 with 15.0 sacks and 15 assisted, but is no longer the same player at 34-years old.
Ndamukong Suh was signed to a massive ticket, but is the star of just the 16th ranked defense in points-per-game at 22.8 on average.
San Diego Chargers
Philip Rivers sits 4th in total passing yards for the 2016 season with 2560, which is even more impressive when you consider he lost two of his favorite targets, Kennan Allen and Danny Woodhead, at the very beginning of the season.
The 34-year old veteran has recorded 17 TDs on the season, good for a ranking of 5th overall (tied with five others at this mark).
His QB is an impressive 71.8 and equally impressive is his 96.2 passer rating. Rivers is likely to record his 300th career TD in this game, as he currently sits at 298.
Melvin Gordon simply looks incredible this season, leading all runners with nine TDs and sitting 3rd overall in rushing yards with 768.
He’s averaging 4.0 YPC on the season and gets the bulk of the work in San Diego with Danny Woodhead sidelined. He’ s come a long way from his 0 TD year in his rookie season of 2015.

Joey Bosa has quickly become one of the formidable defenders and pass rushers in the league as a rookie, who held out and missed all of training camp and the first three games of the season.
The 3rd overall pick from the most recent draft has recorded 4.0 sacks and 14 combined tackles in his five games played.
Bosa pairs with Melvin Ingram, who has 5.0 sacks of his own, to form one of the league’s most formidable defensive duos.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Miami is 0-3 on the road this season
- Miami is 2nd in the AFC East despite just a .500 record
- Jay Ajayi has averaged 176 yards over his past three games, and averaged 25.5 touches across this span
- Philip Rivers has attempted the 6th most passes this season with 325
- San Diego is 3-1 at home tin 2016
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: San Diego -3.5
San Diego has been excellent at home this season, and faces a mediocre defense from the east coast Miami team, who has to travel to the west for this morning game in PST.
Both running backs have been excellent, so they essentially off-set, but each should carry a heavy load in this game.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Miami 20 – San Diego 27
I’ll take the Chargers’ defense at home in their own time zone vs Tannehill and the Dolphins.
Bosa and Ingram should be able to get at Tannehill and Rivers is already a superior QB, so I like the edge to San Diego here as well.
