The Jets somehow managed to comeback from a 17-point deficit in week-14, granted it was at home against the terrible San Francisco 49ers.
Kickoff is set for 5:25PM on this rare Saturday night game, with the fresh-faced Bryce Petty starting under center for the Jets at home, facing off against Ryan Tannehill and the Miami Dolphins.
Miami Dolphins
Ryan Tannehill is about as mediocre as an NFL QB gets, never really doing anything special and making some bad mistakes mixed in with some flashes of talent that once made him a solid prospect.
While Tannehill is average at best, he is at least familiar as a starter and with the offense- though he will now be out due to injury for multiple weeks.

It seems that the shift by coach Adam Gase to making Miami a run-first team will need to be continued with Tannehill sidelined, as the starting duties will fall into the hands of veteran back-up, Matt Moore.
Jay Ajayi has become the lead back for the Fins, and had a historic three-game stretch in the middle of the season once being handed the job before cooling off as of late.
On the season, Ajayi has earned 956 yards on the ground and is averaging an even 5.0 YPC, with seven touchdowns.

The Dolphins defense hasn’t faced the toughest competition lately, aside from Baltimore who squashed them 38-6 in week-13. On the year,
Miami sits near the middle of the pack in points per game allowed with a mark of 23.2 on average. It’s interesting considering the Dolphins allow the 8th most yards per game at 367.5.
New York Jets
Rookie Bryce Petty has taken over for veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick, who has a career year a season ago but struggled mightily and forced coach, Todd Bowles, to make the switch to the 2015 4th round pick.
Petty has yet to throw for more than 260 yards in any game, and doesn’t appear to be the long-term solution for the Jets.
He is coming off of his best performance, however, where he threw for 257 yards and helped lead his team back from significant deficit, yet failed to throw a TD.
The Jets will continue to lean on their run-game, with Matt Forte leading the way on the year with 792 yards and seven TDs.
The Jets running situation is essentially a two-headed monster, with Bilal Powell having a solid year of his own with 456 yards and a 5.8 YPC average, along with three TDs of his own.
Powell is coming off of a big week-14 performance where he gathered 145 yards.

The Jets’ defense is allowing an average of 24.9 points per game, which ranks them 24th overall in the category.
Their stats are almost the opposite of Miami’s, as the Jets sit 19th overall in yards per game allowed at 355.5.
Veteran cornerback, Darrelle Revis, has taken a massive step back this year and is no longer the feared defender he once was, though he is still being paid as such,
NFL Betting Trends:
- Miami is 2-4 on the road this season
- Miami is 2nd in the AFC East at 8-5
- Jay Ajayi ranks 10th overall in the league in rushing yards with 956.
- Since 2012, Matt Moore has only attempted 35 total passes
- Miami beat New York 27-23 in week-9, but neither QBs in that game will start in their week-15 matchup
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Under 38.5
With two bad back-up caliber QBs starting under center in this game for their respective teams, I don’t predict a whole ton of points.
The line is set at one of the lowest totals I’ve seen this year, but for good reason.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Miami- 13, New York-17
It’s more than likely that each team will game plan to stack the box against what should be a run-heavy offense for the other side. I’d start the running backs from each team in fantasy, as they all should see a ton of work, but I don’t expect a lot of points regardless.
