It was a game of two halves for the Dallas Cowboys last week. Leading comfortably by 24-7 in the second half, the L.A. Rams produced a stellar comeback and the Cowboys were left flat-footed.
They will be hoping to show the home fans more mental toughness in week 2 of the preseason when they face the Miami Dolphins.
The Dolphins looked good in their opener against the New York Giants, winning 27-10. Quarterback Matt Moore had a mixed bag of results and Ryan Tannehill didn’t see much action, but their rushing and receiving ranks played best which was enough to secure the easy victory.

Miami should expect a much tougher game here, especially if Dallas start Dak Prescott who was sublime at the quarterback position against the Rams.
Miami Dolphins
Coming off a opening preseason win, the Dolphins have plenty to be excited about this season and according to Dolphins coach Adam Case, he will be starting his entire first-team defensive linemen.
Case was going to rest his defensive line, but they wanted the challenge of taking on the tough Dallas offensive line, so Case will let them play.
Bettors also get to see star running back Arian Foster who will make his preseason debut against the Cowboys.

Foster believes he is fully recovered from an Achilles injury and seeing as he’s not a fan of preseason games, playing this Friday is a great sign he’s on board this season.
Expect Matt Moore to continued to get reps against Dallas after going 10/14 for 122 yards against the Giants.
He did get sacked on three occasions so the Dolphins defensive line as their work cut out for them, but improvements throughout the week would have been made.
Rushing leaders Isaiah Pead and Daniel Thomas made steady headway against the Giants with 50 and 40 yards respectively.
Another solid effort in the rushing game will allow the Dolphins passing game to play with more freedom.
The Dolphins typically struggle on the road, but after consecutive wins they have momentum and they’re playing a Cowboys team with 14 players listed on the DL.
Dallas Cowboys
Despite the ever-growing list of injured players, the Dallas Cowboys are confident they can hang around this season.
The return of linebacker Damien Wilson, defensive end Benson Mayowa and defensive tackle Maliek Collins will strengthen the side and Ezekiel Elliott is also on the mend.
Putting heavy pressure on their outstanding offensive line, the Cowboys will be looking for a full 60-minute effort this week after giving up 21 unanswered points in the second half last week.
Quarterback Dak Prescott was lighting up the stat sheet – going 10/12 for 139 yards and two touchdowns. Prescott is a talented young player who had a passer rating of 154.5 which is impressive for a preseason game.
Expect Prescott to see plenty of action again against the Dolphins and for Jameill Showers to be used sparingly.

The form of Prescott allows Dallas to come out firing, like they did against the Rams, but this is a team which has now lost five consecutive games and although we’re still in preseason, this is a must-win game for the Cowboys.
The last time these teams met was in 2015 where the Cowboys were victorious by 10 points.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Dolphins are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games on fieldturf.
- Dolphins are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games.
- Road team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings.
- Under is 4-1 in Dolphins last 5 games overall.
Free NFL Betting Prediction: Cowboys -3
The Cowboys will be desperate to get a much-needed win. There were positive signs last week with quarterback Zak Prescott and the offensive line will also produce the highest quality of play.
The Dolphins are playing back-to-back road games which won’t make it easy against a physically-tough Cowboys outfit and Miami’s last win in Dallas came back in 2003.
Bookmakers are keeping tight lines in preseason which is where bettors can take advantage. The -3 is a good line for Cowboys bettors.
