The LA Rams finally turned the page and closed the “Starting QB, Case Keenum” chapter, handing the reigns over to the #1 draft pick from this past summer, Jared Goff.
Kickoff is set for 10:00 AM ET with Goff facing off against Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints, seeing both teams currently sitting at 4-6 and needing a win to keep their playoff hopes within reach.
LA Rams
Case Keenum is a well-traveled veteran back-up QB who was a placeholder for the #1 pick, Jared Goff, while he acclimated himself to the professional ranks.

The young took a long time to learn the offense, but with Keenum and the Rams struggling and a fire needing to be lit, the job was turned to Goff.
He still not may be ready, though, as in his debut, Goff threw for just 134 yards and a 54.8 completion percentage with no TDs or picks.
The offense will likely try to feature running back, Todd Gurley, another of LA’s top selections from recent drafts. Gurley isn’t receiving much help from his offensive line, continuously receiving contact in the backfield and not getting the benefit of big holes in the line to run through.
On the year, Gurley has 591 yards and four TDs, with a 3.2 YPC on average.

The Rams defense is the team’s best attribute, led by the incumbent Alex Ogletree and his 86 total tackles.
With the likes of Lamarcus Joyner, Trumaine Johnson, Robert Quinn, Dominique Easley and Aaron Donald, the defensive corps is deep.
LA ranks 6th overall in points per game at a mark of 18.7 on average.
New Orleans Saints
The Saints are in a tough battle for a playoff seed this season, after dropping a tough Thursday night game in Carolina in week-11.
The return home to the Superdome where they are much better, and have the pleasure of facing the lowly Rams team who sit dead last in points per game with just 14.9 on average.
Drew Brees currently ranks 1st overall in passing yards on the season, with 3,277 through the air through 11 weeks.
The 37-year old veteran has a passer rating of 106.4 on the season and a 26:8 TD-to-interception rate in the pass heavy Saints’ offense.
Part of Brees’ incredible year can be attributed to his talented young receiving corps, though that is not to take away from the QB’s accomplishments.
The trio of Brandon Cooks, Michael Thomas and Willy Snead have all recorded over 550 yards, with 736, 681 and 555 respectively. They’ve totaled 15 touchdowns combined and have shown no signs of slowing down.

The Saints’ defense has long been an issue for the team and is part of the reason why despite the incredible offense the team is producing, they have a -1 point differential on the year and a 4-6 record.
New Orleans ranks 30th in the league in points per game against, allowing an average of 28.6.
They’ve also the 6th most total yards at 3828 on the year.
NFL Betting Trends:
- LA has the worst ranked offense in the league, scoring an average of 14.9 points per game
- Jared Goff is searching for his first TD pass of his career entering start #2
- Drew Brees has the most passing yards in 2016-17 with 3,277
- Brees has the 4th best QBR this season at 74.8
- New Orleans is 2-3 at home this year, while LA is 3-2 on the road
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: New Orleans -7.0
I don’t like the Rams offense at all, and despite the Saints putrid defense, I don’t expect Goff to make any noise in his first road start in the NFL.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Los Angeles 17 – New Orleans 28
The Goff-led Rams put up just 10 points at home in his only start, and going up against a New Orleans offense that has the most yards in the league and third most points per game, the Rams won’t be able to get by with 10 points.
Brees has been incredible at home in the Superdome and I don’t expect that to change despite LA’s defensive unit.
