Week three of preseason is typically the week where teams take things seriously and the starters typically play at least a half and usually a little bit more than that.

Kansas City Chiefs
The Kansas City Chiefs basically didn’t do anything wrong against the Cincinnati Bengals last week. Alex Smith looked sharp and the statistics back it up as he went 8-for-9 for 83 yards and a touchdown.
Patrick Mahomes came in and showed why the Chiefs drafted him where they did. Mahomes played with the first team offense and went up against the first team defense for the Bengals and moved up and down the field. Mahomes went 10-for-14 for 83 yards and two touchdowns.

Whether or not he gets to start or play this year is up for debate and right now looking unlikely, but he shouldn’t be discouraged. He’ll have the keys to the car very soon and the Chiefs are lucky to have someone who looks like their future franchise quarterback.
The Kansas City Chiefs have had a stingy defense for the last few years now and going up against a Bengals team that wants to run the ball was going to be an early test this year. And the Chiefs passed with flying colors.
The Chiefs shut down dynamic rookie halfback Joe Mixon to a tune of 2.7 yards per carry.
This is a Chiefs team that looks good thus far and they have the pedigree as they’ve been a playoff team three of their last four seasons with a division title last year.
Seattle Seahawks
As is usually the case, the Seattle Seahawks have been dominating the preseason action as that is what Pete Carroll preaches. There’s a lot of depth and competition that goes on in Seattle and this year is no different.
This is just a taste of what the Seahawks are going to do this regular season as they march through the playoffs and into a Super Bowl win this year.
The Seahawks did suffer a blow last week as the starting left tackle for the majority of last year, George Fant, was carted off with a knee injury. And, as expected, the worse case scenario appeared as he tore his ACL.
As I mentioned just a couple of sentences ago the Seahawks are my personal pick to win it all this year, but if they don’t, it’ll be because of the offensive line.

The offensive line struggled with Fant out.
Rees Odhiambo replaced Fant, but struggled as he gave up a couple of sacks. At right tackle rookie Ethan Pocic didn’t give up any sacks, but he clearly had his hands full. Just to round out the offensive line struggles, Germain Ifedi gave up a sack as well.
The good news is that Russell Wilson is fully healthy and has looked sharp in the first two preseason games. That shouldn’t change this week.
The defense looked strong, as usual, with the standouts being rookies Delano Hill and Nazair Jones.

As of this post the lines haven’t been posted, but it’s more than likely the smart bet to make is either taking the Seahawks to cover or the under.
This will be a good game between two teams that could potentially see each other in February.
As I mentioned earlier, I fully believe in the Seahawks. The Chiefs? Not nearly as much, but if they win their division they’ll more than likely be a two seed and you never know what can happen in the playoffs.
If they get the right match ups, you never know.
NFL Free Preseason Score Prediction: Seahawks 20 – Chiefs 16
He’ll get the majority of the playing time in the second half. I’m interested to see how Trevone Boykin plays against the KC reserves. I’m thinking he’ll do enough to impress as the Seahawks win their third game of the 2017 preseason.
