Alex Smith, while unexciting, is one of the most efficient QB’s in the NFL and has found a a fit within the Kansas City offense since joining the team in 2013.
The Sunday Night kickoff is set for 5:30PM ET with Smith starting opposite one of the top Quarterbacks in the league in Ben Roethlisberger.
Kansas City Chiefs
As mentioned, while Alex Smith lacks the deep ball threat, he has been very efficient and effective, while leading his Chiefs to a 2-1 record to start the year.

Over his last five seasons, Smith hasn’t had a passer rating of less than 89.1 and has missed just a handful of games to injury.
So far this season, he as tallied a 90.6 rating with 786 yards in the air and 3 TDs.
Jamaal Charles is a huge part of the KC offense and the team’s biggest weapon, but he has yet to appear in a game this season so far due to a lingering injury.
He may see some time in week-4, but it’s unlikely he’ll be featured until week-5. Spencer Ware is filling in on the lead back duties until then, and has 202 yards and one TD to date.

Kansas City defense has long been their calling card, holding the opponents down and letting Alex Smith grind out the clock and pick up efficient wins.
KC has allowed just 49 total points against this season and is led by Marcus Peters and his 4 interceptions.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Ben Roethlisberger was arguably the best QB in the NFL last season while healthy, throwing 3,938 yards across just 13 games. He’s been rolling this season so far, despite a poor showing in week-3 he still has 6 TDs and 816 yards.
The big story in this game will be the return of the game’s (arguably) best running back, Le’veon Bell.
Bell returns from a 3-game suspension, as off-field issues and injuries have limited his action in the past couple years.
But in his full 2014 season, he rushed for 1,361 yards and has combined for a 4.3 average yards per carry in his career.
Antonio Brown holds the title of the best receiver in the league and is a large part of Pittsburgh’s embarrassment of riches on offense.
The former 6th round pick had 1,834 yards and 10 TDs last year, and has 305 and 2 so far through the first three weeks in 2016.

Ryan Shazier is the star on the Pittsburgh defense now, having the luxury to learn alongside one of the best in James Harrison early on in his young career, which certainly helps.
The Steelers have allowed 66 total points against thus far, including a shocking blowout loss last week in Philadelphia.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Kansas City currently has the 5th best point differential at +20
- Alex Smith is averaging 241.0 passing yards per game this year
- Marcus Peters leads the NFL with 4 interceptions in 2016, after tying for the lead in 2015 with 8
- Antonio Brown led all receivers last year with 1,834 yards
- Pittsburgh is 1-0 at home this year, and went 6-2 at home in 2015
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Pittsburgh -5.5
While I have full respect for KC’s defense, I see this as a redemption game for Pittsburgh coming off the shocking blowout loss in Philly in week-3.
Look for Le’Veon to lead the way and establish himself in the 2016 season.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Kansas City 20 – Pittsburgh 27
Pittsburgh will welcome back Le’Veon Bell with open arms and provide a dual-threat back field with the best back-up runner in the league, DeAngelo Williams.
I expect the momentum to carry over to the defensive side of the ball and hold the Chiefs at bay.
