Both of these teams were on the up and up last season, and hope to be this year as well.
Many people think the Cowboys got robbed in their playoff game against the Green Bay Packers last season, in what would have resulted in a return trip to Seattle for the NFC Championship game, a place where they had already won earlier in the year.

Cowboys fans are some of the most prideful in the country, and that loss against the Packers cost them a trip to a place where they haven’t been in a very long time: The Super Bowl.
Houston Texans
While the Texans have one of the most explosive players on the planet in J.J. Watt, they will still be hurting a bit in the hopes of challenging for a playoff spot this year.
Yet again, starting RB Arian Foster is going to miss time because of injury, which means Houston will have to go with Alfred Blue out of the gate. Blue has shown some signs of greatness, but let’s face it, he’s no Arian Foster.
Now throw in the loss of Andre Johnson, and the fact that Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett are the QB’s in town, and you might start to re-think those playoff aspirations.

Thank god there are always two sides to the story. The Texans are sporting one of the best looking defenses in the league, and defense is the key to winning in this game.
Led by the above mentioned Watt, Vince Wilfork, Brian Cushing and hopefully and injury free Jadeveon Clowney, there won’t be too many teams lighting up the scoreboards against these Texans.
Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys looked great last year.
They brought back memories to when the team was a real dynasty. A good QB, an awesome WR, and a fearful ground game were all present in their ’14 regular season and playoff run.
Everybody loves to make fun of Tony Romo, but this kid had one hell of a year last year. Let’s see if he can do it again this year. Once again the NFC East will be up for grabs with no team really looking like they will be the sure fire favorite.

With the loss of DeMarco Murray this offseason, who was an integral part of their success last year, the Cowboys brought in Darren McFadden to hope to maintain the ground game.
Dez Bryant, Jason Witten and Terrance Williams should all have fine years, but I wouldn’t expect to see any of them for very long, if at all, on Thursday night.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Cowboys lead all-time series 3-1
- Texans won 1st ever meeting 19-10 (2002)
- Texans last made the playoffs in 2012
4* NFL Betting Prediction: Under 39
As this is the final preseason game, I don’t figure a lot of starters will see any time, therefore the score should fall well below the over/under.
NFL Score Prediction: Dallas 17 – Houston 10
The final tune up is always a crap shoot. There are some games that will be no-brainers, but I don’t think this will be one of them. Bet at your own risk.
