The Texans were in danger of losing their season early but got the win on Thursday…it wasn’t pretty.
I think even if New England had fallen to 0-2 they might have still been the favourite in the AFC East. Nevertheless they won at New Orleans.

The last time these two teams played New England beat them in the playoffs.
However, the Texans defense did have success in disrupting the Pats offense. They are going to need to do the same to have any shot on Sunday.
Houston Texans
It was definitely not pretty but rookie QB Deshaun Watson led the Texans to a victory on Thursday night. The kid definitely is not shy about being on stage.
The play that turned the game was a pretty rushing touchdown by Watson who threw for only 125 yards. Still he did not turn the ball over.
Watson is unlikely to be phased by taking on the defending champs and you can make a case that the defense he faced in the NCAA title game last year was better than this one.
However, you can bet that the Pats are going to test him and that means loading up on a running game that is pretty effective.
Watson has always had that “it” factor. If he can beat New England on the road the legend will continue to grow.

In the playoffs last year the Texans made things very uncomfortable for Tom Brady. They are a rare team that has multiple pass rushers to bring the heat with…and J.J. Watt is healthy.
The Texans did not give up much to a Cincinnati offense last week but don’t get too excited. That group has been terrible since they started counting the games for real.
This is always a chess match as the Texans coach is a former New England coordinator. Getting the best of your mentor is pretty tough when it is the hoodie.
New England Patriots
There was no way to sugar coat the Pats’ loss on the first night of the season. K.C. outplayed them plain and simple. It might have been surprsing but not the end of the world.
New England definitely recovered against a light New Orleans team last week. Brady looked like the Brady we expect and as a result the offense was very effective.
That included lots of opportunities for Gronk including a long TD catch. He left the game with a tweaked groin though and for now he is questionable. Stay tuned.
Brandon Cooks is their best receiver and they are still figuring out how to work him into the mix. He will be even more important if Gronk is out.

The Pats led the league in scoring defense a year ago so it was a surprise that they gave up as much as they did to Kansas City in the opener. Their performance against New Orleans was definitely an improvement.
This week will be a different kind of a challenge as they will look to show rookie QB Watson that life in the NFL can be very confusing.

4* Free NFL Betting Prediction:
I did not see the Pats win over New Orleans as a statement. The better team won and when the Pats win they usually cover.
NFL Free Week 3 Score Prediction:
There might be a little more juice for this one with some revenge for Houston but I don’t think New England gets caught in that.
It will be a chess match in the first quarter as the Texans look to get their QB off to a good start. There is no way they can ask him to play catchup against this group.
