Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers is expected to see game time against the 49ers and that has fans and bettors excited.
The Packers are 2-0 in the preseason so far with both games being played at home, but they have been far from impressive in the passing game and the injection of Rodgers should spark a fire under their hood.

The 49ers rebounded after an opening loss to the Houston Texans with an impressive effort against defending Super Bowl champions Denver Broncos.
All three quarterbacks played impressively and seeing as the bookmakers have set the game total at 46.5, we should see a high-scoring game on Friday night.
Green Bay Packers
The Packers have been all about defense in the preseason so far, having given up totals of only 11 and 12 points. They played offensively-inept teams such as the Browns and Raiders, but the coaching staff will be pleased with what they have seen.

Against the Raiders in week 2, the Packers relied heavily on the running game of Eddie Lacy who ran for 45 yards on nine carries. The rushing team as a whole performed well and scored the teams two touchdowns, but it was at the quarterback position where they had some trouble.
Brett Hundley went 5/7 for 67 yards in a respectable effort, but Joe Callahan struggled. He got sacked twice and averaged only 3.8 yards per play. Marquise Williams came in for one play and was sacked for a loss of nine yards.
Having the experience of Aaron Rodgers in the game will not only help the Packers, but it will instill a sense of confidence to the supporting cast.
Expect a more balanced effort from the Packers with the inclusion of Rodgers.
San Francisco 49ers
49ers coach Chip Kelly isn’t sure if Blaine Gabbert will start at the quarterback position on Friday, but one thing is for sure, Colin Kaepernick will be making his preseason debut.
The much-maligned QB has been the talk of the town in the preseason and bettors often find themselves taking a gamble on his performance. Kaepernick has the ability to become one of the better two-way quarterbacks in the league, but the trouble that comes with him can be too much to handle.
Fellow quarterback Blaine Gabbert wasn’t overly enticing last week against the Broncos, going 6/9 for 69 yards. Christian Ponder had a much better showing when going 7/8 for 86 yards and one touchdown.

The addition of Kaepernick will open up the running game even more for the 49ers which ran for 184 yards against the Broncos. Kaepernick has the ability to run from the pocket which makes him a dual-threat player as he also has a strong arm.
The 49ers defense returned to their glory days against the Broncos. They recorded a total of six sacks and a repeat effort will put plenty of pressure on the Green Bay quarterbacks and especially the offensive line which hasn’t been stellar in recent seasons.
The 49ers will find it tough this season, but they shape up well against the Packers in this week 3 preseason clash.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Packers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games.
- Under is 6-1 in 49ers last 7 games on grass.
- Packers are 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 meetings.
- Packers are 11-4-2 ATS in their last 17 meetings.
Free NFL Betting Prediction: 49ers PK
Going against the trends and sticking with the home team. The 49ers have plenty of play for in this game and if they can continue the form they showed against the Broncos, they should be seeing off the Packers.
The return of Colin Kaepernick could go either way, but having another running quarterback to call upon is a positive and he should be in a good frame of mind heading into this season.
There were plenty of negatives about the Packers last week and despite going 2-0 so far this preseason, they will find this game much harder.
