Week-17 will feature a battle between two teams that have nothing left to play for except pride, as each of the Bills and Jets are eliminated from playoff contention.

Kickoff is set for 10:00 AM with veteran QB Ryan Fitzpatrick getting the start for the Jets, a move that has Jets’ fans unhappy as they wanted to witness what 2016 2nd round selection, Christian Hackenberg, has to offer.
In what is likely his final game for the Jets, Fitz will start opposite to EJ Manuel, in a somewhat surprising move by the Bills.
Buffalo Bills
The Bills still sit at 7-8, which mathematically eliminates the team from the playoffs. The record has cost their head coach his job, as Rex Ryan has just been fired by the organization at the time of writing.
Ryan was brought in to try and help improve the Bills playoff chances- a team who have not appeared in the post-season in 17 years.
Ryan, in reality, did not bring the Bills any closer to contending than his predecessors, and now finds himself looking for a job after two rather unsuccessful stints with the Jets and the Bills.
The current rumor is that EJ Manuel will start in week-17 in place of the benched Tyrod Taylor. Taylor has started every game for the Bills this season and compiled a passer rating of 89.1 and threw for 3,023 yards, 17 TDs and a 61.7% completion rate.
Manuel has thrown for two completions on his six attempts in 2016.

Sammy Watkins is back after missing a large chunk of the season with a lingering foot injury. He made a big impact in week-16, finally showing flashes of his old self that made him the 5th overall draft pick in 2014.
In week-14, Watkins went off for 154 yards and a TD on seven catches.
Buffalo’s defensive unit has been right about league average this season, grading out at the 15th spot in points allowed per game at 23.2 on average.
Looking a little deeper, they sit 19th overall in yards per game allowed at 358.9, so it seems the points per game is a true representation of the defensive group as a whole.
New York Jets
It appears that the Jets are sticking to their plan of redshirting 2nd round pick, Christian Hackenberg, for the entire season. They will go with veteran QB, Ryan Fitzpatrick, in their season finale on Sunday.
Fitzpatrick, who was looking for a big commitment from the team coming off of a career season in 2015, lost his starting job to Bryce Petty this season. Petty sustained an injury in week-16 that thrusted Fitz back into action.
On the year, Fitzpatrick has thrown for an even 2,500 yards and 10 TDs against 17 INTs, which is truly a terrible pick rate. This start will likely mark his final game in a Jets uniform, as the pending free agent will look to showcase in this game for a shot at a starting gig elsewhere next season, though he will likely have to accept a back-up job.
Fitz starting might help Brandon Marshall, his top target who also had a great year a season ago but has not replicated it in 2016, or even come close. Marshall has just 59 receptions on the season for 788 yards and only three TDs.

The offense now appears to run through running back, Bilal Powell, who has put together a string of strong games. Powell has rushed for 600 yards and three TDs on the season, while losing a lot of carries to fellow back, Matt Forte.
With Forte dealing with an ailment the past few weeks, Powell has run for at least 60 yards in each of the last three games.
NFL Betting Trends:
- Buffalo is 3-4 on the road this year
- Buffalo have a total point differential of +41 on the season
- The Jets took matchup #1 this year 37-31 in week-2
- New York is 1-6 at home this year
- New York has the third worst point differential on the year at -154
4* Free NFL Betting Prediction: Under 43.0
With EJ Manuel and Ryan Fitzpatrick starting, there’s no way I’m banking on a lot of points.
Yes, both teams have a solid running back situation, but there should be a lot of turnovers and incompletions through the air. I’ll tease the half point, though.
NFL Free Score Prediction: Buffalo 17 – New York 21
Look for the ground game to score most of the points here. Shady McCoy is one of the best running backs in the league and Bilal Powell has looked strong of late. I expect the backs from the respective teams to score and the passing games to struggle.
