This NFC matchup on Sunday afternoon has Arizona traveling to Atlanta looking for their 5th win of the season.
Kick off is set for 1:00 PM ET with QB Carson Palmer getting the start for the Cardinals against Matt Ryan of the Falcons.
Arizona Cardinals
What started out as a season with Super Bowl aspirations, looks like one that won’t even result in a playoff berth for the Cardinals. The offense has looked stagnant and the defense has dealt with multiple injuries to key positions.

Carson Palmer has not looked like his MVP caliber self since the NFC Championship game last season. In last week’s loss to Minnesota he threw for only 198 yards, his lowest output of the season.
He also threw 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions in the game. The offensive line couldn’t protect him as he was sacked 4 times.
I expect an average game from Palmer against an underrated Falcons secondary.

David Johnson had one of his better games of the season, rushing for over 100 yards and receiving over 50 yards. He also had his second straight game with both a rushing and receiving touchdown.
Look for the talented back to continue his hot streak and reach over 150 total yards with 2 scores.
Larry Fitzgerald has continued to be the go-to wideout for the Cardinals offense this season. With Michael Floyd having a down year Fitzgerald has played as one of the best receivers in the conference.
Against the Vikings secondary, he had 6 catches for 63 yards.
It was his 6th straight game with 6 or more catches so look for Fitzgerald to make it 7 in a row.
Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons started off this season hot, but have been up and down the last couple of weeks. The defense has been average at best during this run, but the offense has been consistently good throughout the year.
Matt Ryan has been one of the best players in the league, and is a worthy candidate for the MVP discussion. He and All Pro wideout Julio Jones have been the best 1-2 combo in the league.
Even with Ryan and Jones playing at the highest points of their respective careers, the Falcons are still only 6-4.
In last week’s loss to the Eagles Ryan was 18-33 for 267 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception.
The Arizona secondary has dealt with injuries all season, and Tyron Matthieu still isn’t 100%, so expect a huge game from Ryan.
Devonta Freeman hasn’t rushed for over 100 yards since week 3, but the 3rd year back has been a key contributor to the Falcons offense.
In the loss to Philadelphia last week, he rushed for 49 yards on 12 carries, and caught all 3 of his targets for 32 yards.

The talented back shouldn’t have any trouble catching passes out of the backfield for Atlanta, so I expect 100 total yards from Freeman.
Julio Jones has made his claim as one of the best wide receivers in the league this season.
He leads the league in receiving yards. He faces Patrick Peterson so it will be a great matchup, but Jones will step up to the challenge and post a 10 catch, 25 yard effort.
