2017 Vikings Season Preview & NFL Futures Lines
Looking for 2017 Minnesota Vikings predictions? We’ve got your back. Everything was looking up for the Vikings last season. The team was opening up a new stadium, and even when starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater was lost for the season, the front office went out and got Sam Bradford to occupy the position in his absence, helping Minnesota to a 5-0 start to the season.

That start is but a distant memory now, as a disappointing 8-8 season has many wondering whether this current Vikings roster has what it takes to reach the promised land.
With the face of the franchise over the past decade, Adrian Peterson, leaving town in the offseason, it’s gut check time for everyone on the roster this season.
2017 Minnesota Vikings Predictions: Roster Changes
The biggest change comes at running back – a position of stability for the team for the last decade, now has some question marks around it as Peterson calls New Orleans home, and in step a pair of backs in rookie Dalvin Cook and former Oakland Raider Latavius Murray to occupy the position.
The team couldn’t find much success on the ground last season thanks to poor offensive line play, but that issue was addressed in the offseason.

General manager Rick Spielman signed left tackle Riley Reiff and right tackle Mike Remmers to big money deals, and brought the draft’s top-ranked center, Pat Elflein of Ohio State, into the fold to help fortify that unit, which did a poor job of protecting Bradford and opening up running lanes.
Wide receiver Michael Floyd was added to give some depth to the receiving corps, but he’s been suspended for the first four games of the season.
2017 Minnesota Vikings Predictions: Offense
With Peterson gone, this Vikings offense will have a very different look to it.
The hope is that the additions along the offensive line will get the team back to a point where it can lean heavily on the running game, which it will do behind the rookie Cook, who figures to enter Week 1 as the clear-cut starter, with Murray seeing a fair bit of action as well.

Bradford enjoyed his best pro season a year ago, but things could have gone better with a little more help from his offensive line.
With that group shored up this offseason, and the addition of a couple new and emerging faces in the receiving corps, another strong season could be in the cards for Bradford for however long he hangs on to the gig in Bridgewater’s absence.
2017 Minnesota Vikings Predictions: Defense
However things play out on offense, the strength of this Vikings team remains the defense. With Mike Zimmer as the architect, this group is loaded with talent all over the field, and with most of those players yet to reach their age 30 seasons, this is a group that’s going to be good for a long time.
2017 Minnesota Vikings Handicapping: (Strengths/Weaknesses)
It just can’t be stressed enough how young and talented this Minnesota defense is. It’ll be a shame if defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd’s career is taken off course by the nerve issue he’s been dealing with, but even in his absence there will be a ton of playmakers on the field at all times.

Bradford’s going to be looking over his shoulder all season long as Bridgewater works his way back from that horrific knee injury.
He’s made great progress, but they might be wise to consider putting him on the IR and just looking forward to the 2018 season, both for his personal development, and for the sake of the team’s chances in 2017.
2017 Minnesota Vikings Prediction (Final Record): 9-7
We know what this defense can do. It’s all a matter of how quickly Dalvin Cook can become the guy to get this offense moving. The Vikings might be another year away as Cook develops into the back they need him to be and Bridgewater returns to full health.
