2017 Cowboys Season Preview & NFL Futures Lines
Looking for 2017 Dallas Cowboys predictions? We’ve got your back. No team grabbed headlines in 2016 like the Dallas Cowboys. And for once, it was for all the right reasons. The team’s youth movement at two key offensive positions wasn’t enough to slow the team down as they won the NFC East and earned a first round bye in the postseason before coming up on the wrong end of an historic performance from Aaron Rodgers.

All the key pieces remain in place and Tony Romo won’t be around to provide any distractions so there’s no reason not to expect the team to stay strong, though it’s a shame they weren’t able to get anything in return for their former franchise quarterback, who’ll be calling games from the booth this season.
2017 Dallas Cowboys Predictions: Roster Changes
The Cowboys’ secondary will have a very different look this year with Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne gone. Nolan Carroll was signed away from the Eagles, and Jourdan Lewis was added in the third round of the draft.
First-round draft pick Taco Charlton will be called on to be the pass-rusher the team has sorely lacked for years – so much so they reached a point of desperation that led to the addition of Greg Hardy.

The group that’s been the core of this team has been its league=best offensive line, and that group will receive a facelift by the time the season starts – and it may actually wind up being better than it was a year ago.
Doug Free retired, and Ronald Leary defecting to Denver. Replacing them will be 2013 first-round pick Jonathan Cooper, and first-round talent La’el Collins.
2017 Dallas Cowboys Predictions: Offense
The state of the offensive line will be key to how this offense performs in 2017. Collins was expected to be used at guard, but Free’s retirement will force him into work at right tackle.
And it’s tough to know exactly what to expect from Cooper, who’s fizzled out in Arizona, Cleveland, and New England. But with all the talent on that line, there’s the potential for it to be elite.

As for the skill positions, the trio of Dak Prescott, Ezekiel Elliott, and Dez Bryant will make this offense go.
Prescott was a true Pro Bowl talent as a rookie, taking a firm grasp on the most high profile quarterback gig in the NFL. Elliott was equally impressive as a rookie, and should be in for another explosive campaign as a sophomore.
Bryant has missed a lot of time due to injury over the last two seasons, but he’s as talented as any receiver in football and will be a valuable asset for this offense moving forward – particularly around the red zone where he uses his physicality to dominate smaller corners.
2017 Dallas Cowboys Predictions: Defense
The Cowboys’ pass rush remains a work in progress and has held this team back for years. The secondary lost some important players, which is only going to put more pressure on those pass rushers to get to the quarterback.
Charlton will need to make an immediate impact as a player that unit is counting on.
2017 Dallas Cowboys Handicapping: (Strengths/Weaknesses)
Jaylon Smith could be the biggest difference maker for this team among players that weren’t on the field a year ago.
Smith, a 2016 second-round pick out of Notre Dame, missed all of last season with a knee injury that led to a nerve issue. He’s expected to be ready to handle a full workload come Week 1, and could add a legitimate playmaker to a defense sorely lacking difference makers.

How quickly the Cowboys will be able to shuffle in all those new faces will determine whether they remain at the top of the NFC, or whether they’ll be thrown into the mixer for a potential wild card spot.
2017 Dallas Cowboys Prediction (Final Record): 11-5
They went just 3-3 in their division last season, so they’ll need to be better there, but all signs point to another highly productive season for one of the NFC’s elite teams.
