West Virginia Mountaineers
Sagaba Konate has sat out about six weeks and about four since he was diagnosed with a knee injury that would require 2-4 weeks to heal.
He still hasn’t appeared on the court, seemingly extra cautious about recurring soreness in his right knee. One of his older brothers, who played college basketball for Minnesota, has been advising him on his perspective professional career.

In the meantime, West Virginia has won just one game since the start of the New Year and Big-12 play. It was a one-point win over Kansas, which the Jayhawks may look back on with some regret if they can’t extend their run of regular season conference championships.
Tennessee Volunteers
Of course, Tennessee’s only loss this season came against KU at Madison Square Garden. It was an overtime loss at a time when Kansas was healthy and ranked #1 in the nation.
Thirteen wins in a row later, Tennessee is the new #1 in college basketball after Duke’s loss to Syracuse and then win over Virginia, which likely kept the Cavaliers from leap-frogging the Vols into the #1 spot.

UT’s last two wins have been by narrow margins, first over Alabama at home and then at Vanderbilt. Lamonte Turner, who was hurt the last time I wrote about Tennessee, played 31 minutes against the Commodores but had a poor shooting night.
Turner hasn’t shot it as well as he can since returning on January 5 and he’s hitting just about 30 percent of his three-pointers on the season.
He shouldn’t be concerned, nor should Tennessee fans. He’s a gunner that has an unwavering confidence and as long as he’s on the floor and available for Rick Barnes, Tennessee has a game-changer off the bench.

Free West Virginia Mountaineers vs. Tennessee Volunteers NCAAB Prediction: Tennessee stretches it out and covers on the road.
The Volunteers are the far more advanced team with better balance. I see the Vols avoiding WVU runs and slowly stretching this thing out to 11, 12, 13, 14 by the end of the game.
