Kansas Jayhawks
Kansas beat Kansas State on Saturday but it was just by one point. We hit the Wildcats +12 but lost the over in a split decision. The KU fans are always happy to leave the in-state rivalry game with a win but there was nothing overwhelming about what the Jayhawks did to their little brother.

Still, the win was enough to get KU into a four-way tie for the Big-12 Conference lead. The Jayhawks are knotted with Texas Tech, Oklahoma and West Virginia. The Jayhawks haven’t played Oklahoma, lost to Texas Tech and obviously get their first shot at West Virginia tonight.
I saw a figure earlier that KU’s chance of winning the Big-12 with a win tonight is right around 50 percent (46 was the exact figure). If it loses, it will be down close to 20 percent. There is not much wiggle room in the Big-12 and tonight’s game is massive if KU wants to keep its magical run of conference titles going.
West Virginia Mountaineers
West Virginia defeated Oklahoma earlier but lost at Texas Tech by just one point on the weekend. It will certainly slide from its spot at #2 in the country when the rankings come out later today, but probably not far, perhaps not even out of the top-five.
Jevon Carter will feel like the best player on the floor and if he plays like it, West Virginia should win. It should also win if any number of its role players steps up to have a huge game or a combination of them play better than usual. The Mountaineers are the rightful favorites.

Esa Ahmad played his first game since becoming academically eligible to return to the court. Bob Huggins didn’t hold him back. Ahmad played 34 minutes off the bench and scored 18 points. Now it feels like West Virginia is at full strength and a legitimate Final Four hopeful. It has a chance to make a statement on Big Monday.

Free Kansas Jayhawks vs. West Virginia NCAAB Prediction: West Virginia too tough at home.
I’m really temped to go with Kansas because this is almost a do-or-die type scenario and I don’t think the Jayhawks will go easy. But West Virginia is so tough at home that I do think it wins, maybe about 51 percent of the time in this situation. For that reason, KU is my play ATS.
