After going up by 12 points at the half, the Yale Bulldogs were able to pull off a huge victory over the Princeton Tigers in the Ivy League semifinals on Saturday afternoon. And while Yale was able to go up by 12 points at the break, they had to fight off a late rally by the Tigers in which to pull out there 2nd straight victory.
The Harvard Crimson were able to get 19 points from Bryce Aiken along with 12 points from Noah Kirkwood as they shot just 42% from the floor, as a team. On the other hand, the defense limited the Pennsylvania Quakers to just 44% shooting from the floor on the night as Harvard’s ability to connect at the free throw line was the reason for the victory.
Harvard Crimson
In a game where both teams were able to connect on just 22 field goals on the night in addition to seven three pointers each, free throws was certainly the difference. In other words, Harvard made good on 15 of 19 on the night compared to 7 of 11 for Penn.
And while both teams had trouble holding onto the basketball throughout, the Quakers committed 13 costly turnovers with leading scorer on the season in AJ Brodeur having four, total. Nonetheless, the Crimson will certainly be looking for yet another matchup with a Yale Bulldogs team to which they edged by two points last month.

In this contest, Aiken was on fire in leading the team with 28 points while going 3-6 from long- range. Aiken has put up some big numbers lately as he continues to shoot a respectable 43% from the floor along with 40% from the arc on the season.
Yale Bulldogs
Miyi Oni along with Alex Copeland led the Bulldogs with 21 points each in their last matchup versus the Crimson. Blake Reynolds along with Tray Phills also contributed 15 and 12 points to the winning effort as well as Yale shot 57% from the floor.
However, the defense also allowed Harvard to shoot 50% on the night as well while allowing them to also make good on 10 three-pointers during the contest. They performed much better on the defensive end versus Princeton as they allowed the Tigers to shoot only 45% from the floor while going a miserable 6-24 from long range.

Oni (18 ppg, 6 rebs) led the team once again in the semi-final with 23 points, 8 rebounds, along with 5 assists in the contest. He is a 6ft 6 threat for Yale who shoots 46% from the floor along with 39% from three-point range on the year.
On the other hand, Alex Copeland (13 ppg) along with Blake Reynolds (11 ppg) also contributed 16 points each to the winning effort versus the Tigers as they have also been offensive stalwarts throughout the season. Copeland is a speedy guard that is shooting 50% from the floor while 6’8” forward in Reynolds has proven that he can stretch the floor in shooting an outstanding 44% from three-point range.

Free Yale Bulldogs vs. Harvard Crimson NCAAB Prediction:
Both teams have just the right amount of confidence and momentum for this game in which to make it one of the more interesting games of the Sunday slate. And while I happen to feel as though the Crimson will certainly make this game interesting, I will back the Bulldogs with the points as they will get a bit of payback after an earlier loss to their conference foe. In all, look for Yale to pick up the 83-73 win at the final buzzer.
4* Free CBB Betting Pick: Yale -4.5
As stated, both these teams have played well enough in which to participate in an opportunity that (with a win) could land them into the Big Dance. However, Yale has been on fire offensively in posting 80 or more in four of their last six games, overall. Look for them to be too much for a Harvard team that has only scored 66 points, or less, in four of their last five outings.
