Harvard Crimson
At KenPom, Harvard comes behind Princeton and Penn in the Ivy League, ranked #186, nationally. In the Ivy League standings, however, it’s first at a perfect 4–0.
Harvard has beaten Dartmouth twice, won at Yale and at Brown. Of course, there is no Ivy League Tournament — the best record gets the auto bid. Princeton has lost a game so Harvard’s primary competition at the moment is 3–0 Pennsylvania.

Bryce Aiken and Seth Towns are a pair of sophomores but they lead the team in scoring and account for 30 a game as a duo. Neither is particularly efficient from the field, however (Aiken shoots 39 percent and Towns shoots 41). They also both turn it over more than 2.5 times per game.
In fact, Harvard’s offensive numbers are all sorts of ugly. It shoots just over 40 percent from the field as a team, including just over 30 from three. KenPom ranks the O 324th in the country.
So how is Harvard perfect in conference play? That D, which is top-40 in the country, according to KenPom. It’s held the opponent to 57 or fewer in three of four Ivy games thus far.
Columbia Lions
Three of Columbia’s four conference games thus far have been on the road and it’s lost them all: at Princeton, Penn and Cornell. It’s only victory came at home against Cornell.
Now the Lions have two in a row at home, including Saturday’s game, which will honor the members of the 1968 Ivy League champs. First, a chance to knock off the team at the top.

While Harvard is weighted heavily on its defense, Columbia is equally as bad on both ends. The Lions rank in the bottom-150 of both offense and defense. Mike Smith scores 17 points a game but needs a lot of shots to get there. He’s only shooting 38.7 percent from the field.

Free Harvard vs. Columbia NCAAB Prediction: Harvard locks up Columbia in an ugly Friday night game.
I don’t necessarily like Harvard in this spot but I can’t see Columbia scoring efficiently against its defense. First to 60 wins.
