The early part of the season has not gone the way UConn would have hoped. Still there is lot of time to improve their resume.
Auburn has just a couple of losses but this will be just their second road game of the season.
Look for a good pace to this one once it gets going. Auburn is not going to let UConn grind it out.
Auburn Tigers
As long as Bruce Pearl is at the helm the Tigers are going to push the pace – they average 81ppg
Mustapha Heron is one of the most productive freshman in the country. He is leading the team in scoring and rebounding, 16 and 6, but only plays 26 minutes per game.
Danjel Purifoy is another freshman who is producing a lot. He is averaging 15 and 5 in just a few minutes per game more. Both have strong bodies so I don’t see them wearing down.

Austin Wiley provides the bulk for this team. He missed the first 9 games of the season though and as another freshman is still playing catchup.
Jared Harper is yet another frosh who is making an impact. He is whip quick and is a one man fast break and defensive irritant.
Ronnie Johnson is pretty lonesome as an upperclassmen on this team. He has spent time at Purdue and Houston and provides experience if not a lot of production.
Connecticut Huskies
It is hard to know what this Husky team is. They have some bad losses and a good win.
One thing we do know is that the Huskies have a very good backcourt in Jalen Adams and Rodney Purvis – those Purvis’ shot has been off most of the year. These two are playing a ton of minutes, 37 and 36 mpg respectively as injuries have really hurt their depth.

Amidah Brimah is as good a shot blocker as their is in college basketball but he has to start contributing more on the boards and scoring. His free throw shooting was over 80% last season but this year he is at a career low 45%. That limits how they can use him.
This UConn team has talent but injuries have really hurt them so far. They have been playing at a slow pace and will need to find a way to do that against Auburn.

Free Auburn Tigers vs. Connecticut Huskies NCAAB Prediction:
UConn is a strong basketball brand so a win for the Tigers would go a long way to getting an NCAA bid.
I don’t like this spot for UConn, it is a home game but not on campus so the vibe will be different.
4* Free CBB Betting Pick: Auburn +3.5
I think the Tigers are going to surprise some teams this season and this could be one of them. They are young and talented.
