The Phoenix Suns came away on the losing end of a tough loss to the Philadelphia 76ers last game, while the Washington Wizards also came up on the losing end, of a 3-point loss to the Miami Heat.
But now both teams hope to put their losses in the past as they look to pull out the win in this next outing.
Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns came up short in their last game losing to the Philadelphia 76ers 120-105. After that game the Suns have now lost in 6 of their last 8 outings.

That’s not going to get this team into the postseason (something they believe that they can do.) Now scoring isn’t the issue for the team, as they can score with the best of them. It just comes down to defense now.
Phoenix gave up a 120 points to the Philadelphia 76ers, and that team has one of the worst offenses in the league.
How can they expect to beat better opposition when they can’t even beat one of the worst teams in the NBA?

They had their chances against the 76ers, but they kept allowing them to get easy baskets. And that’s continued to be a theme for this team throughout the season.
They’ve given up 120 points to the Denver Nuggets, 122 points to the Brooklyn Nets, and 124 points to the Portland Trail Blazers. That’s just giving up way too many points. I mean how can they expect to win, when the teams giving up almost 120 points a game.
That’s just not going to cut it. The teams got to put forth some effort on that end of the floor. They can’t expect to beat Washington in their up incoming game, without placing an emphasis on that end of the court.
If they can get some stops they’ll be able to pull out the win, because one thing Phoenix can do well, is score the ball.
Washington Wizards
The Washington Wizards came up on the short end of a three-point loss at the hands of the Miami Heat (final 114-111.) Washington kept command of the game for much of the night, but a third quarter let up led to their down fall.
Miami outscored Washington 31-23 in the quarter, and in the end it came back to hurt them, as it was a deficit they couldn’t come back from. They tried with a nice showing in the final frame of action, outscoring Miami 29-23, but it was too late by then.
However, now they have a chance to redeem themselves in their next matchup with the Phoenix Suns. Washington has had trouble getting stops so that can be a cause for concern, but with Phoenix likely missing shooting guard Devin Booker, that should help sway the game towards Washington’s side.
Phoenix is a high scoring team that likes to get out in transition and score. But the thing that works against them is they have a tendency to allow opponents to get easy transition baskets themselves.

That means Washington has got to capitalize on that, because John Wall is an absolute beast in the open court. So they should have an easy time getting points, so now it just comes to getting stops.
Unlike Phoenix, Washington has shown themselves to be a good defensive team. But inconsistencies have continued to plague them. So this game it’s going to come down to them getting opportunistic stops.
If they can do just that, they’ll come out on top.

The Washington Wizards have a little bit more firepower in their starting lineup, but the bench unit is just terrible. With that said, the Phoenix Suns are going to take advantage of that, because of their second unit is one of the better benches in the league.
