It took everything in them to get to 10 wins in the 2015-2016 season. After another top pick in the draft, it seemed like the 76ers were beginning to get the tools to turn the franchise around.
However, after another set of injuries to star players, the 76ers are taking more and more steps back.
Do they have enough to even compete this season? Let’s break it down.
Philadelphia 76ers Strengths:
With how many young players this team has after their continuous top picks, the 76ers have the potential for a bright future ahead.
The young core consists of Ben Simmons, Nerlens Noel, Jahlil Okafor, and Joel Embiid. Those 4 right there have the potential to have it all.
You get outside shooting, jump shooters, inside post play, and plenty of athleticism. While the results weren’t there last year for Philadelphia, they gave some teams fits and continued to show off their speed. Put everything together over time and we could see a dangerous 76ers team in the future.

The 76ers also added a few veterans that probably won’t have the biggest impact on the court, but will be clutch for these young guys to help mentor them.
Philadelphia had Gerald Henderson and Jerryd Bayless, who will both help all around this season.
Philadelphia 76ers Weaknesses:
The 76ers weakness’ are clear-cut here.

Nerlens Noel missed his rookie year after tearing his ACL. There is also an issue with him as Noel has yet to come to an agreement on an extension. The problems continue to arise with him and the 76ers after his injury which is a real reason for concern.
Another injury problem has come form Jahlil Okafor missed a portion of the season last year with a knee injury and he continues to battle back from it.
Okafor is likely going to play at the beginning of the regular season should everything go well in the prior days to the season starting.
Lastly, Ben Simmons, this years top pick for the 76ers fractured his foot and is expected to miss 10-12 weeks.
It’s been that kind of luck for the 76ers and they will miss the presence of him for quite some time.
Philadelphia 76ers Betting Prediction: 15-67
It’s going to be tough to be as bad as the 76ers were last season.
However, the injuries to their young draft picks are a reason for major concern.
After all these top picks, seeing production has to come soon for this franchise, but how can they do that when they keep getting injured.

Expect the 76ers to not be as bad as last season, but to endure a lot more growing pains as they have another poor record.
It’ll be another season where they expect to be competing for the top spot in the lottery.
