Thursday, January 7th finds the Philadelphia 76ers playing the Brooklyn Nets for the first time in the 2020-21 campaign. This could be a preview of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Mike Scott missed the last three games with a left knee contusion and is questionable to play Thursday. Furkan Korkmaz (groin) is out indefinitely.
Brooklyn Nets
To start the season the Nets burst onto the NBA hardcourt looking like an offensive juggernaut easily dispatching the Warriors and Celtics both by 26 and 28 points respectively.
Since then the Nets are 2-4 and have shown they aren’t invincible. Spencer Dinwiddie has been lost for the season and with the losses, the depth of Brooklyn and their defensive shortcomings became more obvious.
Steve Nash is now having to navigate his early days as head coach with the prospect of not having Kevin Durant at least for a few games given he came into contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19.
In the first game since that occurred, Kyrie Irving stepped up to ensure his squad got into the win column with a big effort versus the Jazz leading his squad with 29 points, five assists, and six rebounds.
Jarrett Allen chipped in with a huge double-double of 19 points and 18 rebounds. Reserves Caris Levert scored 24 while Joe Harris added 10 points as the other double-figure contributors.
Kevin Durant has entered quarantine and will undergo the NBA health and safety protocols making his presence in the game uncertain. Rodions Kurucs (ankle) is questionable.
Spencer Dinwiddie (knee) out for the season while Nicolas Claxton (knee) has no definitive return date.
