The 9-20 Miami Heat will be hosted by the 10-21 New Orleans Pelicans. The Heat just lost their third in a row, a 130-136 loss to the Orlando Magic in double overtime. New Orleans was defeated by the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-110.
Miami is going to be fighting hard to reach double digits in wins just as New Orleans will be trying to give their home crowd the satisfaction of a win.
Miami Heat
Miami is led offensively by Hassan Whiteside and Goran Dragic. Dragic averages 19.1 per game while Whiteside is right behind him with 18.1. Whiteside is the league’s leading rebounder with 14.8 and 4th in average blocks wirh 2.4. The do it all center is the heart of this team.

In their loss to Orlando, Whiteside had a monster 32 point, 15 rebound game. Yet that just wasn’t enough for them to outlast Orlando as it went to double overtime.

It was a showdown of centers as the Magics Nikola Vucevic got had himself a double double and led his team to a win with his solid play throughout the game.
New Orleans Pelicans
It’s no secret that every bit of success the Pelicans have had is due to superstar Anthony Davis. He is everything to this team. Davis’ stats are completely ridiculous.
He’s number two in the league in scoring, rebounds and blocks. He averages 29.8 points, 11.2 rebounds, and 2.69 blocks. The 6’11 power forward can truly do it all and is arguably the league’s best player. He’s stuck on a bad team and even the best player can’t do the job of five guys.
The Pelicans do have some talent in point guards Tim Frazier and Jrue Holiday, but it’s just not enough to make them a successful team.

In the loss to OKC, the Thunder’s star point guard Russell Westbrook single handedly tore them apart. He had 42 points and 10 rebounds on his way to shredding every defensive effort New Orleans threw at him.
Anthony Davis’ huge 34 point 15 rebound game and Jrue Holiday’s 23 point 10 assist effort was not enough to push this team past Westbrook and OKC.
NBA Betting Trends:
- Miami is 5-5 ATS in their previous 10 games
- The total has stayed under in 6 of Miami’s previous 10 games
- New Orleans is 4-6 ATS in their previous 10 games.
- New Orleans is 9-12 ATS following a straight up loss
Free Miami Heat vs. New Orleans NBA Prediction:
Both of these teams struggle to win game and it’s for the same reason. They have no depth. New Orleans is basically the Anthony Davis show and they don’t give him enough help. Miami is the Hassan Whiteside show guest starring Goran Dragic.
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: New Orleans -4.
The game will more than likely be a close one, but if Anthony Davis can put up huge numbers again and get help from Jrue Holiday or Tim Frazier, this is a Pelicans win.
