The Thunder look to rebound from one of their worst losses of the season as they also try to get Kevin Durant back in the lineup when they take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.
Oklahoma City fell at home to the Kings as Durant sat out with a big toe injury.
The Grizzlies knocked off the Trail Blazers by 13 to improve to 1-1 on this current 3 game road swing. The win put an end to the Grizzlies 3 game road losing streak.
The Grizzlies finally saw their lineup changes become effective in their win over Portland on Monday.
PF Zach Randolph was moved to a bench role, something the veteran clearly wasn’t happy about, but he finally relished in the role as he produced his best game off the bench.
Randolph turned in 26 points and added a season high 18 rebounds in the 91-78 win. Randolph told reporters after the game that he was a team first guy and would do whatever was asked.
The irony behind all this is that Randolph finished 11 of 18 from the floor while the starting lineup combined for a 15 for 51 performance. It doesn’t look like Randolph will be getting his starting job back anytime soon, but if he continues to produce like Monday, he’ll likely see a majority of the minutes at the PF position.
Memphis has struggled on the road this season going 8-11 SU this season.
The Thunder suffered their worst loss this season as the Kings routed the Thunder from start to finish in a 12 point win.
Oklahoma City Thunder got production from Russell Westbrook, but the absence of Kevin Durant was something they couldn’t overcome. Durant injured his big toe in the team’s game against the Hornets and remains QUESTIONABLE for Wednesday.
Anthony Morrow got the start in place of Durant and actually played pretty well as he put in 20 points on an 8 of 11 shooting performance. Morrow has made at least three 3 points in 4 of his last 6 games.
The Thunder have been one of the best offenses in terms of scoring this season. Oklahoma City sits 2nd in the NBA with 108.5 points per game. They’ll be going up against one of the best defenses in the NBA as the Grizzlies allow just 96.0 points per game.
NBA Betting Trends:
- Grizzlies are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game.
- Grizzlies are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 Wednesday games.
- Grizzlies are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 road games.
- Thunder are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 vs. NBA Southwest.
- Thunder are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games overall.
