Indiana Pacers
Indiana hasn’t won a game since Victor Oladipo suffered his season-ending knee injury against Toronto. The Pacers lost their fourth in a row to Orlando on Thursday night and are in the middle of a four-game road trip that concludes Monday night in New Orleans.

All four of Indy’s opponents on the trip are sub-.500 but the Pacers have already dropped the first two, most notably because the offense is a shell of itself with its number one playmaker and scorer in Oladipo. They have averaged just 98 points in the four games since ‘Dipo went down.

It hasn’t helped that Tyreke Evans has also missed three of those games. He’s day-to-day with lower back stiffness, though he didn’t play in Thursday’s loss in Orlando.
Oladipo hasn’t been replaced by a single player, but rather a trio. Cory Joseph, Aaron Holiday and Edmond Sumner have all seen increased playing time, especially Sumner, a two-way player who was a second round pick out of Xavier in 2017.
So far, none of those guys have proven to be able to hit open shots, nor create much for others. Until the Pacers pick up some more scoring, they’re going to be stuck in defensive battles, at best.
Miami Heat
The Heat is certainly a candidate to play a defensive-minded game in the 90s on Saturday night. It managed just 102 points in Friday night’s home loss to Oklahoma City, 118–102.
Paul George had another 40-burger for the Thunder and made 10 three-pointers; Russell Westbrook had his fifth triple-double in a row; and Dennis Schroder scored 28 points, more than any Heat player, on just 13 field goal attempts.

Miami has the third-toughest remaining schedule, based on opponent’s winning percentage, in the NBA. Much of that challenge will come over the next 11 games, when Miami plays seven games on the road, three back-to-backs and eight game, overall, against winning teams. The stretch is really 12 games and began last night with the loss to OKC.
The Heat is turning it over more than 14 times per game and coughed it up 17 times last night. Indiana could capitalize with aggressive defense to force Miami mistakes.
NBA Betting Trends:
- IND are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 road games.
- Over is 8-2 in IND last 10 road games.
- Under is 6-2 in IND last 8 overall.
- Over is 9-3 in MIA last 12 Sat. games.
