This game is the most anticipated game of the year as Kevin Durant returns to Oklahoma City for the first time since joining the Warriors.
The Warriors are 6-1 in their last 7, while Oklahoma City has won 3 of 4.
The Warriors have won the first 2 games of this season series.
Golden State Warriors
The Warriors have clearly planted themselves on top of the NBA Power Rankings, and even though there isn’t much depth to the roster, they may have the best 4 players on a single team in NBA history.

Kevin Durant continues to make his case for MVP, as he continues to cause matchup problems for his opponents. Durant had 22 points on 9-16 shooting, but surprisingly was just 1-2 from behind the arc. He also chipped in 10 rebounds and 7 assists.
I expect him to come out with an extremely aggressive nature to quiet his former fans, and he should put on a scoring clinic tonight. Expect 40 points from one of the league’s best players.
Steph Curry seems to be getting into a scoring groove, which spells trouble for the rest of the league. I’m not bothered by his 13 point effort against the Bulls as that game was over pretty early. He scored 35 in a 3 point loss to the Kings and looked more like the MVP we have been known to see.
He won’t be guarding Westbrook much at all tonight, so I expect Curry to put up big numbers for Golden State.

It’s scary to think that the three best shooters on the Warriors are all hitting a hot groove at the same time, but that seems to be what is happening as Klay Thompson has lit up the Bulls (28 points) and the Kings (26), in consecutive games.
The best stat about Thompson’s hot shooting is that he has shot over 50% from behind the three point line in 4 of the last 6 games. The Warriors have too many weapons but it still wouldn’t surprise me to see Klay put up a 18 point 1st half.
Oklahoma City Thunder
Russell Westbrook continues to amaze the league with his non stop play this year. He followed up a 27 point 18(!) rebound, 9 assist performance against Jeff Teague and the Pacers with a 29 point, 12 rebound, 11 assist game against the defending champs.
Westbrook is still averaging a triple double (30,10,10), and even though he wasn’t named an All Star starter it would be surprising to see him be left out of the top 2 for the MVP race. Expect him to attack Curry and Thompson all night, get his second straight triple double.
Victor Oladipo has been great as a complement to Westbrook in the backcourt. He had 23 points and 7 rebounds against Cleveland, but faces an excellent two way player in Klay Thompson.
Oladipo should put up a respectable 13 points and 4 assits but won’t have any dominant stretches in the game.

Steven Adams and Draymond Green will battle it out tonight, and I am looking forward to see how dominant Adams can be against his toughest opponent. Look for foul trouble from both him and Green early.
