A Central Division showdown with two of the Eastern Conference’s best teams sees the Cavaliers traveling to face the Pacers.
Cleveland has won 2 in a row while Indiana is coming in off of a defensive masterpiece against the Magic.
Cleveland won last season’s series 3-1 but none of those games were decided by more than 5 points.
Cleveland Cavaliers
Cleveland is clearly the best team in the East, and their 8-1 start shows though are playing better than the team that won the NBA Title last year. The Pacers always provide an interesting challenge to Lebron and company.

While his scoring has gone down by a few points, Lebron James is playing at an MVP level this season. He is averaging 22 points, just over 9 assists (9.1), and a hair under 9 rebounds per game (8.9).
He continues to be one of the most dominant players the game has ever seen, and his matchups against Paul George are always spectacular.
In the3 games against Paul George last season he averaged 28 points, 7 rebounds and almost 5 assists. Look for Lebron to have a triple double and continue his reign as best SF in the league.
Kevin Love is playing like he still has on a Timberwolves jersey. He is clearly using his strong play in the last couple of games in the NBA Finals to show how important he is to the Cavs offense. This season he is averaging 20 points and 10 rebounds.
[dfads params=’groups=226&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
He also had his 4th straight double double against the Hornets, finishing with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Going up against breakout player Myles Turner should be a tougher task than the Hornets front line, but it shouldn’t be a problem making it 5 straight double doubles.
Indiana Pacers
The Pacers have struggled in the early part of the season, sitting in last place in the Central Division. Outside of Cleveland I don’t see many teams standing in their way to climb up to a good playoff seed.
Paul George’s numbers are slightly down compared to last season, but he is still one of the top players in the Eastern Conference. The talented SF is averaging 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists this season.
In 4 games against Cleveland last year he averaged 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. He will have to play at his best tonight for Indiana to have a shot at the victory, and I expect him to put up 25 points and 7 assists.
Myles Turner has quickly become one of the best young big men in the league, right behind Anthony Davis and Karl Anthony Townes.
The second year man out of Texas put up only 9 points and 7 rebounds against Orlando a few nights ago, but he is still averaging 14 points and 7 boards on the season. It should be a good matchup between him and Tristan Thompson.

Indiana’s defense was great against Orlando, holding the Magic to just 69 points and 32% shooting from the floor. The Magic also shot just 5-25 from the three point range.
If the Pacers can force the Cavs off the three point line it should be a close game.
