This game features a struggling Charlotte team traveling to face the Toronto Raptors.
The Hornets have gone off the rails losing 9 of their last 10, while Toronto is also struggling, 1-6 in their last 7 games.
The teams have split the season series so far this year.
Charlotte Hornets
The Hornets started the season off strong, and had themselves in the position to make the playoffs, but poor play has them hoping to turn things around before the All-Star break.

Kemba Walker’s poor play has been one of the big reasons for the Hornets skid. Walker has shot the ball extremely poorly during this bad run by the Hornets. He has only 1 20+ point game in the last 6 (1-5), and is shooting an abysmal 32% from the floor.
Even with his poor shooting Walker’s assist to turnover ratio has been very good. He continues to be careful with the ball and will have a good matchup against Kyle Lowry in this one.
After a big 29 point, 7 rebound performance against the 76ers on Monday night, look for Walker to have another big game and finish with 20 points and 7 assists.
With Kemba Walker playing poorly on the offensive end Nicolas Batum has stepped up to carry the load for the Hornets. Batum has scored 15 or more points in the last 4 games and will have a good matchup against Toronto as they are now thin at the SF position.

Marvin Williams had a very bad game against the Sixers on Monday, which was surprising considering the disparity in talent level between the two teams.
He was held to 4 points and 0 (!) rebounds in 33 minutes of play. If Williams can’t have an impact on both ends of the floor the Raptors will run away with the win.
Toronto Raptors
The Raptors made shockwaves Tuesday morning with a huge trade that will set them up for a big playoff run. They traded small forward Terrance Ross and a 1st round pick to the Magic for power forward Serge Ibaka.
It is expected that Ibaka will suit up for this game, but I don’t expect him to make much of an impact.
The loss of Ross will hurt their defense against Batum, but only averaging 10 points and 2 rebounds per game ultimately led him to being traded for an improvement at the forward position.
While the Raptors are struggling DeMar DeRozan continues to score at an All Star level. He has put up 26+ points in 3 straight games, and should dominate any backcourt combination the Hornets put on the floor.
The addition of Ibaka will open up the floor more, and I expect Derozan to get 28 points and 5 assists on the night.

I expect Kyle Lowry to benefit the most from the acquisition of Ibaka. They should build a good inside out game, and Ibaka’s ability to shoot the 3, will open up the floor for the athletic Raptors guards.
Lowry had 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists in the loss to Detroit Monday night, but called out his teammates for their poor play.
