2018-2019 NBA Previews – Raptors Odds
Looking for 2018 Toronto Raptors Predictions? We’ve got your back. Toronto finished last season 59-230, finishing first in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. That was a huge accomplishment…and then it all came crashing down at the hands of the Cleveland Cavaliers and The King, LeBron James, in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Luckily for Toronto, LeBron has taken his talents to Southern California and the East is officially up for grabs.
Entering 2018-19, the Raptors are pegged as the second-best team out East, but if Kawhi Leonard—who was brought on board in a trade for arguably the franchise’s best player of all-time, DeMar DeRozan—can regain his old super powers (aka, being awesome on both ends of the court when healthy), this group has a real shot at earning the No. 1 seed once again and finally, officially exorcizing the demons of the past.
Toronto Raptors Strengths:
Kawhi Leonard could be a franchise-saving player for the Raptors. When healthy and engaged, he’s the league’s best three-and-D player, meaning he’s a threat on the perimeter on both ends the court.
Leonard also has a ton of experience under Gregg Popvich, which despite the ugly marriage can only be a good thing.

You also can’t forget about Kyle Lowry. The point guard has made a name for himself and found a home in Toronto, and he’s the kind of player who can take over a game at any point.
Look for this duo to lead the Raptors to a whole bunch of wins this season.
Toronto Raptors Weaknesses:
As big of an asset as Kawhi Leonard is, he’s also a huge question mark. Like, bigger than his own hands, which is saying something.
We just don’t know which Kawhi is going to show up. Or IF Kawhi is going to show up.

The Klaw needs to prove not just that he’s healthy—although that is the absolute minimum he needs to prove—but that he can embrace Toronto, both the city and the franchise.
The Raptors took a monumental risk trading a fan favorite and perennial All-Star in DeRozan for a player who not only played single-digit games a year ago but is also a free agent in the summer of 2019.
This team needs to take full advantage of LeBron moving West, and while Kawhi gives them the best chance to do that, he also represents a serious risk entering the 2018-19 campaign.

Toronto Raptors Betting Prediction:
When Vegas released its 2018-19 over/under wins projections, the Raptors were pegged at 54.5. That number is not just criminally low, but it’s embarrassing to the fact that you should consider writing Vegas, your local congressman, the Blog Boyz of the interwebs and anyone else who will lend an ear.
This is one of the easier over/under bets across the league, and it’s not even close. And yes, it takes into account the idea that Leonard may miss significant time.
While Toronto isn’t projected to be the No. 1 team out East this season (that honor belongs to the Boston Celtics), they are a popular pick to take the two seed ahead of the Philadelphia 76ers.
Give the Raptors 58 wins, and don’t bet shocked if after 82 games they have 60 to their names—regardless of where those pesky Celtics landed.
