Looking for 2018 NBA Atlantic Division Predictions? We’ve got your back. The Atlantic Division has a clear split between the top three teams and the bottom two. The Boston Celtics, Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers will all be fighting for the top three seeds out East, while the Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks will be long shots just to qualify for the playoffs.

It’s no doubt the Celtics are the favorite to win the division, seeing as they pushed the Cleveland Cavaliers to seven games in the Eastern Conference Finals a year ago and are now fully healthy and ready to take over the No. 1 spot in the conference with LeBron James out West.
Nothing will come easy in this division, however. Unless they’re playing the bottom two teams, of course.
2018 Boston Celtics NBA Atlantic Division Prediction
Head Coach: Brad Stevens
2017-18 Record: 55-27
Odds To Win Division: -130
Odds To Win Conference: -130
Odds To Win NBA Championship: +500
There’s only one team in the NBA that can say it has a legitimate Big Five. That would be the Golden State Warriors, who will eventually (when Boogie gets healthy) run out Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green and DeMarcus Cousins in a single lineup.

If any other team in the league, however, has anything close to a Big Five, it’s this Celtics squad. Now that they’re healthy, Kyrie Irving, Gordon Hayward, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Al Horford are going to make up a mean quintet and are the reason this squad has the second-best odds across the Association to win a championship in 2019.
2018 Toronto Raptors NBA Atlantic Division Prediction
Head Coach: Nick Nurse
2017-16 Record: 59-23
Odds To Win Division: +280
Odds To Win Conference: +400
Odds To Win NBA Championship: +1400
Since the end of the 2017-18 season, the Toronto Raptors have had to go through one of the biggest facelifts in the NBA, which is mostly surprising considering this team locked in the East’s best record a year ago.

Now, Head Coach of the Year Dwane Casey is gone. So is franchise staple, DeMar DeRozan.
In for those two are Nick Nurse to roam the sidelines and Kawhi Leonard to take over the role of superstar.
This team has the luxury of playing in the Eastern Conference, but it also has a huge set of question marks hanging over the head of Kawhi, who is coming off a season defined by injuries and controversy with the San Antonio Spurs.
2018 Philadelphia 76ers NBA Atlantic Division Prediction
Head Coach: Brett Brown
2017-18 Record: 52-30
Odds To Win Division: +285
Odds To Win Conference: +400
Odds To Win NBA Championship: +1400
There aren’t many third options with as much hope as the Philadelphia 76ers when looking at Divisional odds. And that’s a huge testament to just how good both this Sixers squad can be, as well as a look at how competitive the Atlantic Division really is.
Although it’s easy to say this team is a Ben Simmons jumper away from being the best team in the division, it also goes deeper than that. Markelle Fultz needs to prove he’s the player Philly thought he was when they drafted him first overall. Joel Embiid needs to stay healthy. Role players such as JJ Redick, Robert Covington and Dario Saric must continue to be reliable players.
Fortunately for Philadelphia, it has a very high floor even if it fails to reach its very high ceiling this year.
There are plenty more competitive years to come from this group. it just depends on whether or not they officially gain upper-echelon status now or (not so far) down the road.
2018 Brooklyn Nets NBA Atlantic Division Prediction
Head Coach: Kenny Atkinson
2017-18 Record: 28-54
Odds To Win Division: +15000
Odds To Win Conference: +12500
Odds To Win NBA Championship: +45000
The Brooklyn Nets have no shot at winning the Atlantic Division. Double that statement when looking at the Eastern Conference at large or an NBA championship.
But this group has a couple things going for it that it couldn’t claim in the recent past.
For starters, Brooklyn finally owns its own first-round draft pick. That’s huge for a team that won’t be winning many meaningful games throughout the year.
The other notable thing here is that the Nets finally aren’t considered the worst team in the Atlantic. Yes, that’s a bit of a counter celebration to the point we just made about lottery picks, but building a winning culture is also important and the Nets may just start doing that this year.
2018 New York Knicks NBA Atlantic Division Prediction
Head Coach: David Fizdale
2017-18 Record: 29-53
Odds To Win Division: +20000
Odds To Win Conference: +8000
Odds To Win NBA Championship: + 40000
The New York Knicks aren’t going to be watchable until Kristaps Porzingis is back on the court, fully recovered from a torn ACL. That’s just a fact.
But there will be a few young pieces to keep an eye on—at least from afar.

For starters, rookie Kevin Knox got people talking at summer league and could very well be a Rookie of the Year candidate when it’s all said and done. Youngster Frank Ntilikina is another young player who has a chance to exceed some individual expectations this year.
Overall, though, this is going to be a tough group to watch. With apologies to Knicks fans, that’s all we have to say on the matter.
2018 NBA Atlantic Division Prediction
The race to the top of the Atlantic Division is going to be the race to the top of the Eastern Conference. The top of this division is simply that good.
If the Raptors can get a full, healthy season out of Kawhi Leonard and the superstar can stay focused on the task at hand instead of his impending free agency, Toronto has a shot to earn a No. 1 seed out East for the second year in a row.
But at this juncture, knowing how good the Celtics can be if their roster stays healthy and figures out how to play with so many go-to options, Boston will be the official team to beat once the playoffs begin in April.
