This year’s Pure Michigan 400 is set to start at 2 p.m. (ET) and it will be broadcast nationally on NBC Sports Network.
Kevin Harvick was able to make his way to the Winner’s Circle for the second time this season with last Saturday night’s victory at Bristol.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was able to hold onto second place in that race with Denny Hamlin rounding out the Top 3.

The following is a look at my top favorite, contender and longshot to win this Sunday afternoon’s race at Michigan based on betting odds provided by MyBookie.
2016 NASCAR Pure Michigan 400 Odds: The Favorite (odd of less than 10/1)
I am sticking with the hot hand this week and taking Kevin Harvick to make it two victories in a row as a +600 favorite.
With last week’s win, the No. 4 Chevrolet has now placed fourth or better in three of the last five point races and this team is back on top of the current Sprint Cup standings with 762 total points.
It is also tied for second when it comes to runs this season inside the Top 5 with a total of 10.
The main reason why I like the value in Harvick’s odds this week is his recent performance at this track.
You could almost say he is due after posting five runner-up finishes in his last seven Sprint Cup races at Michigan.
2016 NASCAR Pure Michigan 400 Odds: The Contender (odds from 10/1 to 19/1)
It has been quite a while since I went with Jimmie Johnson as one of my weekly NASCAR picks, but he is another driver that is long overdue for a win.
[dfads params=’groups=246&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
He has just one lone victory this season coming at Atlanta in the second race of the year and his No. 48 Chevrolet has placed outside the Top 5 in nine of the last 10 point races.
On the plus side to his +1200 betting odds to win on Sunday is a seventh place finish last week at Bristol that is definitely a step in the right direction.
Johnson only has one career victory at Michigan in a Sprint Cup event and it came in the first race here in 2014.
2016 NASCAR Pure Michigan 400 Odds: The Longshot (odds 20/1 or greater)
There are a couple of NASCAR’s young guns battling it out for a spot in the Chase.
This week I am looking to capitalize on Chase Elliott’s +2000 odds as a longshot to break through the pack with his first career victory in the Sprint Cup series driving the No. 24 Chevrolet.
He has been quiet as of late after a solid run of six Top 5 finishes earlier this summer, but the simple fact that he led 14 laps of last Saturday night’s race is an encouraging sign.
I also like the fact that his best run of his rookie Sprint Cup season came at Michigan with a second place finish behind Joey Logano in the first race here in early June.
