Jimmy Johnson was the first driver in the field of 12 to punch his ticket to the next round of the Chase with last Sunday’s victory at Charlotte.
My top contender for that race was Matt Kenseth at +1050 betting odds and he took second followed by Kasey Kahne in third.

The following is a look at my top favorite, contender and longshot to win this Sunday’s race at Kansas based on betting odds provided by MyBookie.
2016 NASCAR Hollywood Casino 400 Odds: The Favorite (odds of less than 10/1)
Kevin Harvick is still one of the top favorites to win this season’s Sprint Cup title, but his margin of error has just gotten pretty tight following last week’s 38th-place finish at Charlotte.
He comes into this week’s race as one of two +450 favorites to win along with Martin Truex Jr. and I believe there is some solid value in that number.
The No. 4 Chevrolet started this year’s Chase with a 20th-place run at Chicago before bouncing back the next race with a victory at New Hampshire.
Harvick’s recent form at Kansas also adds value with a first or second-place finish at this track in four of his last six Sprint Cup events.
2016 NASCAR Hollywood Casino 400 Odds: The Contender (odds from 10/1 to 19/1)
Another big-named Chase driver that finds himself in an early hole in this round is Denny Hamlin after fading to 30th last week due to engine trouble.
[dfads params=’groups=246&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
He actually led that race for 52 laps before things came unglued.
His betting odds to win this week have been set at +1650 and I think there is some tremendous value in that number given his three previous point-race victories this season including one in the regular season finale at Richmond.
Kansas is not one of Hamlin’s favorite tracks, but he did place second in this event last season.
2016 NASCAR Hollywood Casino 400 Odds: The Longshot (odds 20/1 or greater)
I went with Kurt Busch last week as my top longshot and he remained competitive with an eighth-place finish at Charlotte.
He has once again been opened at long +2750 odds to win this week and I am once again going to take the bait.
While he has not torn things up in the first four Chase events, he has raced well enough to have the No. 41 Chevrolet in fifth-place in the current standings with the top eight drivers advancing to the next round.
What I really like about this pick is Busch’s third-place run at Kansas earlier this season. He has now placed eighth or bettor in his last three Sprint Cup races at this track.
