NASCAR Sprint Cup – Axalta ‘We Paint Winners’ 400 Preview and Prediction
Race: Axalta 400 at Pocono Raceway
Date: Sunday, June 5
Time: 1 p.m. (ET)
Broadcast: FOX Sports 1
Wrapping-up a two week stay at Charlotte, Martin Truex Jr. won for the first time this season in a Sprint Cup point race with a victory in last Sunday night’s Coca-Cola 600.
Kevin Harvick and Jimmie Johnson placed second and third after closing as favorites to win that race.
The following is a look at my top favorite, contender and longshot to win this Sunday’s race at Pocono based on betting odds provided by MyBookie.
NASCAR Axalta 400 Odds: The Favorite (odd of less than 10/1)
Jimmie Johnson is a regular fixture in this category, but I really like him this week as my top favorite given his slightly extended +700 odds to win.

Following a rough patch in which the No. 48 Chevrolet posted three-straight finishes outside the top 20 drivers in a Sprint Cup point race, this team regained some of its winning form last Sunday at Charlotte.
Johnson is currently holding down the third spot in the Sprint Cup standings with 409 total points.
He has won twice to make him a lock for the Chase as part of six Top 5 finishes this year.
The real value in his odds lies in a solid average finishing position of 9.5 at Pocono and he is coming off a third-place finish in this event last season.
NASCAR Axalta 400 Odds: The Contender (odds from 10/1 to 19/1)
I always like Matt Kenseth at longer odds and in light of his current form behind the wheel of the No. 20 Toyota I really like him at +1000 odds to win this race.
Following a very slow start out of the gate that included just three Top 10 runs in his first 10 point race events, Kenseth has now placed fourth at Kansas and seventh at Charlotte wrapped around a huge victory at Dover on May 15 in his last three events.

While Pocono has not been one of his favorite tracks over the years with a 15.2 average finishing position, he turned things around in 2015 with a sixth-place finish in this event followed by a trip to the Winner’s Circle in the second race here.
NASCAR Axalta 400 Odds: The Longshot (odds 20/1 or greater)
This could be the week that rookie Sprint Cup driver Chase Elliott breaks through the pack with his first career win.
Taking over for Jeff Gordon in the No. 24 Chevy, he has placed inside the Top 5 four times this season including a recent third-place finish at Dover.
This has been good enough to hold down the eighth spot in the current standings with 374 points.
Elliott has been opened at +2000 betting odds to upset the field in his first ever Sprint Cup race at this track.
