The Rangers have now won seven of their last 10, and will look to keep their streak alive be sending Cole Hamels to the mound on Wednesday. The left-hander will make his sixth start since being acquired in a trade with Philadelphia. Hamels, is 9-2 with a 2.15 ERA in 16 starts against the Padres, holding San Diego to a .198 batting average. He went eight innings in Friday’s win over Baltimore, striking out 10 while surrendering a single run on two hits and four walks.
San Diego Padres
The Padres are 5-5 m their last 10, and could not get the win on Tuesday, despite the bases with no outs in the ninth against Rangers.
San Diego is led offensively by Matt Kemp who homered and drove in four runs for San Diego on Tuesday. Kemp has a major-league best 38 RBI since the All-Star break, but it will be pitching that will be key in Wednesday’s matchup.
