The Cubs have dominated the Reds in this series, and they’ll look to continue that in the series finale at the Great American Ballpark. The Cubs are the best team in baseball, and the Reds are struggling badly. Do the Reds have any Sunday magic up their sleeves to take out their divisional rivals?
Chicago Cubs
Whether it’s with the hitting or the pitching, the Cubs have been clicking on all cylinders and have all the makings of a potential pennant-winning club. At 13-4, the Cubs own the best record in baseball.
Chicago is 1st in the majors in several categories, including runs scored, runs allowed, hits allowed and opposing batting average.

Dexter Fowler is hitting for contact, and Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo are hitting for power.
Fowler has a .377 average and an OBP of .500. Rizzo leads the team with six dingers and 17 RBI, and Bryant is right on his tail with four homers and 14 RBI.
Jason Hammel is scheduled to start in this one.
He comes in with a 2-0 record and an astonishing 1.00 ERA to go along with a 1.11 WHIP.
Cincinnati Reds
The Reds have been absolutely embarrassing in this series and there’s simply no other way to put it. After being no-hit by Jake Arrieta in a 16-0 shutout on Thursday, the Reds were crushed 8-1 on Friday.
Being outscored 24-1 in two games is not a stat to hang your hat on, and Cincinnati needs to get something going on Sunday to salvage some momentum.

Unfortunately for the Reds, Alfredo Simon will be on the mound, and he is just flat-out awful. Simon, who struggled last year with the Detroit Tigers, is 0-1 with an ERA of 12.15 and a horrible 2.55 WHIP. Simon isn’t alone though.
As a staff, Cincinnati is 28th in ERA, 29th in WHIP and 30th in home runs allowed.
Jay Bruce and Brandon Phillips continue to lead the Cincinnati offense, but the team is pretty bare outside of those two.
MLB Baseball Betting Trends:

Free Chicago Cubs vs. Cincinnati Reds MLB Prediction:
Nobody is stopping the Chicago Cubs, and this could very well be the year they finally snap their World Series streak. The Reds had a nice start to the season, but they’re playing like the team we all thought they’d be.
With no quality pitchers and only Jay Bruce and Brandon Phillips bringing in offense, the Reds will be in for another long season.
4* Free MLB Betting Pick: Over 9
With Alfredo Simon on the mound, the Cubs have a good chance to score 10 runs by themselves. While the Reds’ offense isn’t anything to write home about, they have fared well in day games.
I like home teams on Sundays, and though I don’t think the Reds will win, I think they’ll be able to score some runs.
