MLB Predictions & Handicapping Insight – AL MVP
I can’t go through all the Home Run Leaders but I will go through some of the favorites, and some of the dark horses you should keep an eye on.
MLB Home Run Leader Odds: Giancarlo Stanton Futures +800
Giancarlo Stanton comes into this year the favorite to have the most Home Runs in the Major Leagues. He has the most pure power in the Major Leagues so it’s no surprise he is the favorite.
Last year he only had 27 home runs but only played in 119 games. That put him on pace to hit 36 if he would have played the whole season which would have tied him for 16th place.
The biggest problem for Stanton has been staying healthy. He hasn’t been able to stay healthy his whole career so that could derail his chances at the crown.
MLB Home Run Leader Odds: Nolan Arenado Futures +900
Nolan Arenado comes into this season with the second highest odds to win the home run crown this year. Last year he finished with 41 home runs which was tied for sixth.

The biggest advantage he has is the ballpark he plays in. Coors Field is one of the most friendly hitter stadiums in the major leagues.
MLB Home Run Leader Odds: Kris Bryant Futures +1000
The reigning national league MVP comes in with the third best betting odds to have the most home runs. Last year he hit 39 home runs which was sixth best in the league.
The thing Kris Bryant really has going for him is that he is young. He is already a superstar and he hasn’t even entered his prime.
I would expect him to hit more then 40 home runs this year. If that is enough to win the home run crown is question.
MLB Home Run Leader Odds: Gary Sanchez Futures +2800
I really like Gary Sanchez at this price. In 53 games last year Gary Sanchez hit 20 home runs, which if he would have played a full season would be about 60 if he stayed on pace.

The home run leader last year only had 47 runs so Gary Sanchez would have run away with it last year. At +2800 he has the most bang for the buck.
MLB Home Run Leader Odds: Brian Dozier Futures +4000
Brian Dozier finished in second place in total home runs last year hitting 43 out of the park. He was really faded this year because last year seemed almost like a fluke.
At +4000 there is some value, but I would probably stay away.
MLB Home Run Leader Odds: Adam Jones Futures +10000
Adam Jones the hero of the World Baseball classic comes in at +10,000 for the home run crown. Last year Adam Jones hit 29 home runs.
Although he only hit 29 last year he still is the type of player who can hit it out of the park at anytime.
MLB Home Run Leader Odds: Evan Gattis Futures +10000
Evan Gattis might be the best value at +10000 if he can stay on the field. He only played in 121 games last year but he hit 32 home runs in that time.
[dfads params=’groups=213&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
The problem with Gattis is no matter how good his bat is he is still a liability in the field. If he can improve his defense which will get him more games played he can win this.
