Key Additions
- Neil Walker
- Asdrubal Cabrera
The Mets looked to pick up middle infielders this offseason and they did just that. Neil Walker is a big pickup for them at second base. He played very solid for the Pirates last season.
He will not be a .300 or a 30 home run guy, but he will give the Mets good production. Cabrera was another good pickup by the Mets.

As he is aging a little bit he will not be the hitter he once was, but you can expect him to play good defense this season.
2016 Mets Predictions – Projected Lineup:
1. Curtis Granderson- CF
2. Neil Walker- 2B
3. David Wright- 3B
4. Yoenis Cespedes LF
5. Lucas Duda-1B
6. Michael Conforto- RF
7. Travis d’Arnaud- C
8. Asdrubal Cabrera- SS
The Mets are going to need more production out of this lineup this year rather than relying on the pitching staff every game.
They really seemed to struggle at the bottom of the lineup this past season but hopes to see improvement their after the acquisitions of Walker and Cabrera.
They received most of their impact from the middle of the lineup last season with Wright, Cespedes, and Duda.
David Wright came back to play a good season last year after not playing up to par in recent years dealing with injuries, he hit .289. Cespedes and Duda was where all of the power was produced.
Yo hit 35 bombs last season and Duda paced him with 27. Curtis Granderson also turned things around last season, posting a .364 on base percentage.
Look for this lineup to struggle this year. I do not see David Wright and Granderson to be able to repeat on their successful years last season. This lineup cannot expect Yo to produce all the runs again this season.

I think that 6-8 is very weak for the National League pitching. This will not be the strong point of this team this season.
2016 Mets Predictions – Projected Rotation:
1. Matt Harvey
2. Jacob deGrom
3. Noah Syndergaard
4. Steven Matz
5. Bartolo Colon
This pitching rotation might be one of the most exciting staffs in all of baseball. Matt Harvey is coming off a season where he was noted comeback player of the year.
DeGrom really came on late for this pitching staff while Syndergaard blew gas the whole season. The young Steven Matz came up in the season and really made some noise to go with this lineup.
The only weak point I see in this rotation is Colon. For a 5 man, he will do just fine, but later on in the season I would look for them to go to a 4 man rotation. I look for this staff to improve from their season last year.
I have high hopes for deGrom, Syndergaard, and Matz that if Harvey was not able to produce that they will pick up the weight.
Look for this staff to win A LOT of games for this ball club.
2016 Mets Predictions – Projected Bullpen:
1. Jeurys Familia
2. Hansel Robles
The New York Mets bullpen will do well, but nothing to brag about. Familia is coming off a season in which he had 43 saves, nearing him to the top of the list in that category.
He will be set up by Hansel Robles again this season.
I do not look for this part of the team to get much action as the front end pitching staff should be able to get into the 7th inning of most outings.
Look for Familias numbers to stay put or to rise this season.
2016 New York Mets Season Predictions:
This New York Mets team should have another exciting season. In the weaker NL East, I expect them to win that fairly easy.
[dfads params=’groups=213&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
This team will really be looking for the pitching staff to win them ball games, as their lineup is not very strong.
Cespedes should be able to have another spectacular year to go along with that pitching staff. This team does not seem very deep, so with one injury to someone important, this team’s season could go down the gutter.
My Prediction: The Mets will win the NL East in handily fashion.
Look for them to make another post season run, but this time they will lose at the hands of the Chicago Cubs to stop them from visiting the World Series back to back years.
