Vikings Super Bowl Odds
Minnesota Vikings +3500
11-5
1st NFC North
The Minnesota Vikings were perhaps the most surprising team in the NFL this season. They didn’t overpower anybody or make big explosive plays down field by any means though. They methodically put drives together and moved the chains on third down consistently. Behind RB Adrian Peterson, the Vikings offense rolled. They went into Lambeau Field on the final day of the regular season and knocked off the Packers, securing the division title.

Unfortunately for them, they get the defending NFC champions in the Seattle Seahawks on Wild Card Weekend. Things won’t be easy as they come in a home underdog to Russell Wilson and company. Controlling the clock and slowing down the big play Seahawks offense is the key to getting past the first round.
Adrian Peterson
This could honestly be all five reasons why this team will win the Super Bowl. If Adrian Peterson goes off this postseason, look out.
The Vikings got a bit of a scare in the season finale as Peterson went down with a back injury, but he did return in the 2nd half.
Adrian Peterson won yet another rushing title as he racked up 1485 yards and added 11 touchdowns to his credit.

Peterson will certainly have to surpass the 100 yard mark in playoff games if the Vikings offense hopes to put points on the board.
A Stingy Defense
Minnesota’s defense was sometime overshadowed by how well Adrian Peterson was running the ball, but this Viking D is no joke.

Minnesota was 7th in the NFL in sacks with 43 and finished the season off with 5 against Green Bay in the biggest game of the season. Harrison Smith led the secondary with a ridiculous four interceptions that he took back for touchdowns.
The Vikings will need to blitz all day long throughout the playoffs as they’ll need to win the turnover battle and set Peterson and company up with small fields.
Finding A True #1 Out Wide
His stats may not jump out of the page, but Stefon Diggs has been as close to a #1 as the Vikings have had in quite some time.
Diggs finished the season with 720 yards and 4 touchdowns. Those stats come after he missed the first 3 games of the season. Diggs ranked 5th among rookie receivers in receptions yards and third in touchdowns. He’s going to be a major game changer this postseason, especially if Peterson can’t get things going.
It’s Snow Problem
With winning the AFC North, the Vikings will for sure have at least one home game this postseason.
With the Seahawks coming to town during Wild Card Weekend, the temperature calls for 14 degrees with a lot of snow expected. Minnesota is used to these conditions without a problem. Seattle will have a tough time adapting, which gives the Vikings a solid advantage here.
Teddy Bridgwater
Bridgewater wasn’t asked to do all that much this season, but when he was called upon, he delivered.
The Vikings QB threw for 3231 yards and had 14 touchdowns to his name.

He never tries to do too much and rarely forces anything into tight coverage. He’ll need to make a couple of big plays and avoid sacks this postseason if the Vikings have any chance. Look for him to use play action with Peterson a lot to throw the defense off.
