West Virginia bounced back from the loss to Oklahoma State by thumping Kansas, while the Longhorns have won 2 in a row.
West Virginia Mountaineers
Senior QB Skyler Howard had a great game against the Jayhawks, going 16-27 for 260 yards and 3 touchdowns through the air, and also chipped in 11 carries for 64 yards and 2 more scores.
His playmaking ability has been vital to the offense all season long and I expect another huge game from him since the Texas secondary has been vulnerable all year long.
Justin Crawford has delivered two back to back solid performances on the ground.
The talented junior had 13 carries for 129 yards and a score against Kansas, and is averaging 5.4 yards per carry this season.
I expect him to get at least 15 touches in this game and he shouldn’t have any issues getting huge gains in the second half.

Dakiel Shorts Jr has been on a tear the last couple of weeks. He followed up an 8 catch game against Oklahoma State with 7 catches for 104 yards and a score last week.
During the last 4 games he has also caught at least one pass for over 15 yards and is a deep threat whenever the ball is in the air. Look for him to get 100 yards receiving for the second straight game.
Texas Longhorns
Can Charlie Strong save his job? The early start to the season had Longhorn fans calling for his head, but Texas is 5-4 and a victory here would secure a bowl berth at the least.
I don’t see Strong on the Texas sideline next year for a number of reasons, but they have a good chance in this one.
True freshman Shane Buechele has thrown 2 or more touchdown passes in 5 straight games. He has elevated his play and should be able to attack the Mountaineers secondary this week.
Look for it to be 6 straight games with 2 or more TD passes for the talented QB.
D’Onta Foreman has to be the Big 12 offensive player of the year right?
The junior running back is averaging over 180 yards per game, has not had a game under 100 yards rushing, and just put in the best rushing yardage performance of the season.
He finished the game against the Red Raiders with 33 carries for 341 yards and 3 scores.
It was his second straight game with over 30 carries. The West Virginia defense has been good against the run the last two games, so don’t expect the same gaudy stats from Foreman.

The Longhorns defense, or lack of it, will be the reason Charlie Strong gets fired at the end of the season.
The unit has given up over 30 points in each of the last two games, and the secondary was beaten up by Patrick Mahomes for 367 yards through the air.
If the Longhorns put up that kind of performance for a second straight week, this one will be ugly at halftime.
