West Virginia is out of the race for the B12 title but they still have a great shot at finishing the regular season with 10 victories if they finish strong.
They just couldn’t handle the teams from Oklahoma this season. Beyond that things went pretty smoothly.

Iowa State has three wins and they have won back to back games so thing are pretty rosy right now in Ames.
Another victory would be almost unheard of but in their final home game of the season I expect them to be competitive.
They are 5-1 ATS in Ames this season.
West Virginia Mountaineers
WVU is looking to get up off the mat in this one as they were doubled up by Oklahoma last week at home.
Oddly the 56-28 score might have flattered them as this game was over by halftime.
The Mountaineers may have a nice record but really they have fattened up on a light B12 this season. Really no teams in the league are performing better than expected, except for the bottom feeders Kansas and Iowa State.
This is a good but not great team. They do not excel in any particular area.

West Virginia has a very balanced offense with Skyler Howard at the controls.
They can score but are lacking those elite skills players they have had in the past – there is no Kevin White, Tavon Austin, Pat White or Steve Slaton on this team.
On defense they are better at preventing points than preventing yards.
They likely should not have too much trouble with Iowa State, even though the Cyclones were awesome on offense last week.
Iowa State Cyclones
ISU dominated last week beating Texas Tech 66-10. Seeing all those points I did a little bit of homework. The last time the Cyclones scored 50+ points was in 2013 against…West Virginia – 52 in a 3OT win.
This team was in complete control against TT limiting the passing game while taking advantage of every offensive opportunity.
In another statistical oddity backup QB Joel Lanning led the team in rushing yards with 171 while scoring 5TDs.
I guess technically he is a running back when he carries like that but I can’t recall ever seeing a game where one QB threw for a bunch (285 by Jacob Park) while another QB ran it like that.

The 66 points are impressive but so are the 10 allowed.
They held T QB Patrick Mahomes to a season low in yards and last week was the only game all season where he had more interceptions than touchdowns.
There was definitely no precedent for a performance like that so we have to read into it very carefully.
I guess it was the perfect storm (pun intended). Let’s see how they back it up.

Free Week 13 NCAA Football Prediction
This seems like a great spot to fade the Cyclones. Opinion on them could not be any higher than it is right now, right? Similarly the market is likely down on West Virginia.
A lot of people saw them get smacked by Oklahoma last week. The number is very manageable.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: West Virginia -7
Look for West Virginia to get out early in this one.
They need a good start and will have something to prove. Once they get the lead they can settle in and use that balanced attack to methodically wring out the win.
This one will not be close late.
