The Virginia Tech Hokies and East Carolina Pirates get set for an ACC/AAC battle on Saturday afternoon night, kicking off at 3:30 PM EST.
The Hokies are looking to build momentum heading into conference play.

East Carolina is looking to prove they can still compete with the Power conferences.
Currently, Virginia Tech sits as 9 point favorites here with the total sitting at 56.5 points.
Virginia Tech
After losing at home to top ranked Ohio State the Hokies have had two easy wins over Furman and Purdue. This is their last game before starting ACC play next week.
It is also a revenge spot as Virginia Tech lost to the Pirates at home, just another in a series of close games between these two teams.

Virginia Tech has already overcome some adversity this season as starting QB Michael Brewer has been lost for most of the season due to a broken collarbone.
In his place junior Brenden Motley has shown efficiency, completing more than 60 of his passes while not throwing an interception the last two games.
All they want out of him it make the plays that are available so the Hokies can win games thanks to their strong defense and special teams. The running game has been solid too.
East Carolina
Usually the Pirates relish these opportunities to go head to head with the big boys but this season they are overmatched without the likes of graduated QB Shane Carden.
They are 1-2 and their lone win is over FCS Towson. They hung with a struggling Florida squad but then got run over by Navy, literally.
Blake Kemp is the new triggerman and in this offense he is going to put up some numbers. Carden had a knack for making the big play though and it is too early to tell if his replacement can replicate that.

On defense it is the same old of being one dimensional. Teams may not throw on EUC much but that is because they don’t have to. Running is too easy.
Home dogs are always appealing but I am not sure that this year’s Pirates are built like the rest. They would have to really show something we are not expecting to win.

Free Week 4 NCAA Football Prediction
ECU has a great track record of hanging, and often beating, ACC programs (5-0 ATS run). But those teams were a little further along in their development. I don’t see that happening for this team.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Virginia Tech -9
The Hokies are far from elite but they should be able to hold down the Pirates and win by a couple of scores.
