This is a big matchup in the race towards the ACC Title game and a possible bowl bid. Both teams are coming off of big wins last week.
Virginia Tech beat up on ECU and the Tar Heels traveled to Tallahassee and upset the Seminoles in dramatic fashion.

This is an even matchup on paper, as both quarterbacks have started the season off strong and are legitimate ACC Offensive player of the year candidates.
Virginia Tech Hokies
Jerod Evans has been phenomenal this season.
He has only thrown one interception and has been a dual threat nightmare for opposing defenses. Last week against ECU he put up 282 yards passing with 3 touchdowns, and added 97 yards and a score on the ground.
This week he faces a much tougher defense in North Carolina, but I’m expecting him to put up another huge game with over 350 total yards.
Outside of Jerod Evans the running game did not get much done.
I look for Travon McMillian to have a good game after two straight subpar ones.
In order for Va. Tech to come out with the victory they will need balance and can’t expect Evans to lead them in rushing and walk away healthy.
Talented receiver Isaiah Ford had a great game for the second straight week.
Against ECU he had 4 catches for 117 yards and a score. He has proven to be a key deep threat for Evans and lok for him to make a few long receptions in the second quarter to set up Va. Tech touchdowns.

The Hokies defense hasn’t given up a lot of points this season, but it’s been in the bend but don’t break variety. Against the Pirates last week the unit gave up 362 yards and a score.
This week against a much more talented QB the secondary may be in for another day filled with struggles.
North Carolina Tar Heels
Even though the ACC Offensive Player of the Year Award is Lamaar Jackson’s to lose, there’s no denying that Mitch Trubisky is the second best quarterback in the conference.
He has not thrown an interception yet this season. Going up against the Seminoles talented and athletic secondary he threw for over 400 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The Va. Tech secondary will have trouble stopping the passing game and I expect Trubisky to perform great again, with 350 yards and 4 scores.
Running back Elijah Hood has had two straight poor performances, but this week I’m, looking for him to break out and reach the 100 yard mark. Are high expectations affecting his play?
I think this will be the start to his turnaround on the season.
Ryan Switzer has had two straight games with 10 or more receptions. I expect it to be 3 in a row as he dominates the Va. Tech secondary this week.

The Tar Heels defense did not play good at all last week.
They gave up over 200 yards on the ground and over 350 yards through the air. I look for them to be in a back and forth shootout with the Hokies as both offenses seem to be rolling.
The key for the defense on North Carolina’s side of the ball is who can force the key turnovers.

Free Week 6 NCAA Football Prediction
These two teams are both riding high waves of momentum. The winner will be in the driver’s seat to the ACC Title game.
I expect it to come down to the final drive, with UNC pulling out another close victory.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: UNC ATS, OVER
North Carolina is facing the tough part of their ACC schedule but should be a team that contends not only for the ACC title, but a spot in the CFP if the chips fall their way.
