UConn Huskies
UConn’s offense was able to produce a solid 573 total yards while they converted 8 of their 15 third down attempts and converting all four of their fourth down attempts.
They could have done a better job protecting the ball as they turned it over three times.
QB David Pindell had a monster game completing 20 of his 27 pass for 308 yards and four touchdowns to go with one interception.
Leading the rushing attack was also Pindell and RB Kevin Mensah who combined for a whopping 281 yards and four touchdowns.
WR Hergy Mayala led the aerial assault hauling in five receptions for 44 yards and two touchdowns.

On the defensive side UConn was pretty dreadful against a less talented Rhode Island offense as they gave up 550 total yards, of which 351 yards came through the air.
The bad thing is that although they didn’t give up a single third down conversion, Rhode Island still put up 49 points against them meaning it was just big play after big play.
Syracuse Orange
Syracuse’s offense was solid against Florida State as they totaled 441 yards while they racked up 25 first downs and went 8 for 20 on third downs.
They also did a great job not to turn the ball over.
QB Eric Dungey had to leave this contest early due to blurred vision, but QB Tommy DeVito filled in nicely completing 11 of his 16 passes for 144 yards and one touchdown.
RBs Moe Neal and Jarveon Howard led the rushing attack as they combined for 130 yards on 24 carries.
Leading the aerial assault was WRs Jamal Custis and Ravien Pierce who hauled in a combined seven receptions for 90 yards and one touchdown.
The real stars of this game was Syracuse’s defense who held Florida State to just 240 yards, 60 yards of which came on the ground.
They also held Florida State to just 11 first downs while they only gave up one third down attempt on 14 tries.

4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: UConn +27.5 & UNDER 73.5
Syracuse has been playing solid football and should have Dungey back for this contest, but they will be taking on a UConn squad that has gone 6-4 SU and ATS in their last 10 contests against Syracuse.
The Orange have gone 9-3-1 ATS in their last 13 games, but they’ve also gone 5-9-1 ATS in their last 15 games at home while they’ve gone just 2-5 ATS in their last seven against UConn.
[dfads params=’groups=219&limit=1&return_javascript=1′]
Syracuse should be able to handle UConn at home, but to cover such a large number is hard to imagine for a Syracuse program that has a lot to prove before I back them and such a large number.
They also have a nice road trip the following week as they try to make it two straight against the Clemson Tigers, so this could be a look ahead contest.
Expect the Orange to get the win, but the Huskies should be feeling better after picking up their first win on the season and play competitively against Syracuse.
