The 8-3 Syracuse Orange hope to maintain their second place position in the ACC Atlantic Division standings, as they face a Boston College (7-4) team that could steal that spot away in the last game of the regular season.
The Orange faithful held their collective breath last weekend, as QB Eric Dungey went down with a back injury early in the game against Notre Dame.
The Orange offense looked entirely out of sorts after Dungey;s exit, and the Irish went on to take a victory at Yankee Stadium, 36 – 3.

Opening Statement on Home Team
Syracuse Orange
As Eric Dungey went down to the ground, the Orange offense was helped off the field with him. Freshmen backup QB Tommy Devito came in and lacked any ability to get the offense rolling.
Dungey left the game 1 for 4 with only 10 yards and an INT before exiting the game, and Devito ended the game 14 for 31 with only 105 passing yards to go with his 2 INTs. The Irish defense set the tone for the entire day in The Bronx, and now the status of senior Eric Dungey is in question.

From what we can tell, Dungey is suiting up and is expecting to make a go of it, although concern towards a bowl appearance could weigh in to the decision making process. That is also counting on the fact that Dungey is cleared to play, because he was undisguisingly hurt as he make his way off the field on Saturday.
Should Dungey not be able to get that back loosened up, Tommy Devito hasn’t exactly proven he can move the ball with an ounce of consitency.
Let’s not also note that the Irish defense isn’t too shabby of a squad, so it might be all that surprising to have seen coming.
Boston College Eagles
The Eagles took it on the chin last weekend as well, although their loss came in much more dramatic fashion to Florida State. Seminoles QB Deondre Francois connected on a 74-yard TD Pass to Tamorrian Terry with 1:49 left to play, giving the Eagles their second straight loss entering their final home game of the season.
The Eagles erased a 13 – 7 halftime deficit to eventually take a 21 – 13 lead as the fourth quarter got underway. Despite only completing 50% of his passes, junior QB Anthony Brown fell 4 yards shy of passing for 300 yards, which he has only done once all season long. Brown threw for 304 yards against Wake Forest way back on September 13 in the third game of the season.

The offense had their chances to put the game away in the fourth quarter, or at least try to get within field goal range to extend a 21 – 16 lead to 8. Instead, the Noles (5-6) came within a game of becoming bowl eligible at the expense of the Eagles.
Sophomore RB AJ Dillon toppled the 1,000-yard plateau for the second straight campaign and is up to 2,641 yards for his career. Dillon put up 116 last weekend on 37 carries, and he found the end zone twice to bring his season total to 11 touchdowns with his lone receiving score included.
AJ Dillon will be called upon again to carry the load in the Eagle backfield, and The Orange defensive line may be formidable, but they are spending a lot more time on the field now.

Should Cuse QB Eric Dungey not be able to play 60 minutes of football, it will greatly effect the outcome of this game. Tommy Devito is simply not the guy who can lead this offense, although Head Coach Dino Babers will always expect more from his offensive unit. This could be the future for Syracuse, and Babers needs to get Devito to move the ball, if Dungey cannot stay on the field.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: The BC Eagles are listed as -7-point home favorites, with a 57.5 showing on the total. Free ATS or O/U final score pick provided below!
Boston College improves to 8 – 4, and finishes out the year in a possible tie for second place in the division. The Bowl Committee will certainly be watching this game because it will influence positioning towards the post-season.
Boston College -7 is your 4* play, with little expectation that Eric Dungey will be 100% to go for the Cuse.
