This has been a very disappointing season for the Cardinal, mostly because their offense has been terrible. It is always interesting when these two programs meet because of the huge contrast in styles.
Unfortunately it is essentially irrelevant in terms of the PAC 12 standings.

It is hard to believe that Oregon needs to win its final three games just to get bowl eligible.
Their defense has been dreadful and seems like no matter which way the games goes they come up short. They have been hammered to, giving up 70 points to Washington.
This week their defense might get a respite because Stanford is such a mess.
Stanford Cardinal
Stanford knew they had to replace their starting QB this season but figured, and reasonably so, that having a Heisman calibre RB would help smooth things over.
Needless to say things have not gone as planned as Stanford has one of the worst offense in the entire country.
They are averaging under 20ppg, Christian McCaffrey has been meh and they are on their second starting quarterback of the season.
Given all of that you can say they might be lucky to not have a record similar to Oregon’s.

Despite those offensive struggles the defense continues to punish opponents.
They are giving up only 18ppg enabling the Cardinal to win games of the 17-10 variety (at Notre Dame). Stanford is first in the conference in sacks.
Even though he is not having the year he did a year ago McCaffrey is leading the PAC 12 in rushing.
Running and defense can still get you a winning record.
Oregon Ducks
Oregon is averaging 38ppg on offense. That is kind of down for this program that seems to have led college football into the spread era but still should be good enough to at least win some ball games.
Assuming your defense has a pulse.
Brady Hoke was brought in to lead that group and the numbers are terrible as they are yielding 42.6 points per game and only one program in FBS is yielding more yards.
It is hard to totally pinpoint the problem too. There is no way they have the second worst raw defensive talent in the nation.

With an eye to the future the Ducks made a chance at QB giving the starting job to Justin Herbert.
Dakota Prukop was far from terrible but their seems to be new energy with the freshman now leading the team. Even though he is fairly inexperienced he has shown good leadership and an ability to protect the ball.
He is not a big running threat though and that always makes this offense more dangerous.

Free Week 11 NCAA Football Prediction
This is a really hard one to call. Stanford really struggles on offense but the Ducks can’t seem to stop anybody. Who wins there? Flip it around the the Ducks offense is pretty good, ditto for Stanford.
Another question of which group can outperform the other.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Oregon +3
There is a lot to think about for this one but let’s add one more thing. Essentially this will be the first road start for Stanford QB Keller Chryst. He has been winning but not exactly burning it up.
Autzen stadium is not an easy place to play and this game always has a lot of juice. As bad a Oregon has been on defense, if he is not ready for this environment they are going to struggle.
