The record may only show a couple of losses but it certainly feels like the sky is falling on the Farm. After back to back beat downs by the Washington teams they need a good result this weekend, if only for their confidence.
The way they have looked it is hard to know if they can get it.

The situation might be worse for Notre Dame.
They are below .500 and with a challenging remaining schedule they might stay that way.
They are at home and getting Stanford at a major low point but they have a lot of questions to asnwer as well.
Stanford Cardinal
Losing at Washington was one thing but getting blown at home was something else. Stanford just isn’t “Stanford” right now. Normally they are very physical but right now they just look slow.
The core of their success this decade has been a dominant offensive line and they are not even close there.
That, and the fact that they are not getting much from the QB position, are the reasons Christian McCaffery is not making another Heisman run.

I may have been kind when I was criticizing the offense above.
Heading into this one they are ranked in the 100s in every major offensive category and averaging a meager 19ppg. Even after getting blitzed the last couple of games they are still only giving up 24ppg on defense.
They need to come up with some solutions quickly and may not be able to turn to do everything McCaffery, who is questionable with a leg injury.
I am not sure where they are going to turn.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Notre Dame lost a very sloppy game at NC State last week.
The game was played in a driving rainstorm so you don’t want to get too focused on it but at the same time it seems like there was not much accommodation for the weather.
DeShone Kizer was clearly having no success throwing the football yet they kept dropping him back. It is not the first time the Irish have been out-coached this season and there are whispers about the security of coach Brian Kelly.

The one good thing about the rain on Saturday is that it helped the Irish defense from getting shredded yet again.
That and their win over Nevada are making that group look respectable statistically but they have been bad.
They are giving up a lot on the ground and even though Stanford has struggled running the ball they are going to make the Irish prove that they can stop them.
There might be a few wrinkles but they are not going to suddenly throw the ball 50 times.

Free Week 7 NCAA Football Prediction
It is really hard to find a way to get comfortable with either of these teams who might be in a dead heat for the most disappointing team of the season.
Notre Dame is at home so I guess that is something, right? Not very inspiring.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Stanford +2.5
I am making this call primarily based on coaching. I trust David Shaw more than I do Kelly and I would be very surprised if he is going to take his group halfway across the country just to get their butts kicked.
Plus you get the points. I know that is kind of flimsy so if you have something else I am all ears.
