The Southeast Missouri Redhawks are now 1-1 on the season, but are coming off a brutal loss against the Montana State Bobcats in a game they just could not get their offense rolling in. They might not come into this game believing they can win, but they surely will want to work on that offense in this game to get some momentum moving into some more realistic spots.
The Missouri Tigers lost their opener against Wyoming, but managed to bounceback last week against West Virginia in blowout style. They will be looking to further their season win total to 2 when they welcome in the Redhawks to Memorial Stadium.
Southeast Missouri Redhawks
The Redhawks only managed 245 yards of offense in that last game and they actually managed to get more rushing yards then passing. They rushed for 131 yards, but need 37 attempts to get their which was only good for 3.5 yards per carry.

The vast majority of the running yards came from freshman Geno Hess who managed 90 yards on only 13 carries and he is likely to see more touches in the future due to his efficiency.
The passing game was horrible last game and they only got 114 yards on 13-29 throwing which only came out to 3.9 yards per catch. It is also concerning that they only had 248 passing yards in their first game where they put up 44 points, but it was overwhelmingly because of the rushing game.
It will be tough to imagine the Redhawks covering even a 33 point spread if they try and almost exclusively sell out to the run.
This defense has been awful in both of their games, but especially bad against Montana where they gave up 456 total yards. 256 of those yards were rushing yards in that last contest and it is easy to imagine a scenario where the Tigers get out to an early lead and then just run the ball the rest of the game.

If the Redhawk’s defense does not step up and are hopeless to stop them this could be a blowout easily in the 50’s range.
Missouri Tigers
The Missouri Tigers are coming off a defensive domination of West Virginia which really showed off the talent the Tigers have on that side of the ball.
One of the more amazing statistics from this game is that the Tigers held West Virginia to 30 rushing yards on 32 attempts which illustrates just how dominant they were along the defensive line.
The offense was also humming totaling 382 total yards, but most of the urgency was taken out of the game as it was a comfortable victory for Missouri. The Tigers did not average much throwing the ball, but were efficient in terms of completion percentage.
The running game was solid going for 232 yards on 50 attempts which was not that efficient, but did get the job done in a game which lost it’s intensity so early.

This Missouri Tigers team seems to really thrive in front of the home crowd and can really see them being motivated to run up the score on their in-state opponent.

I don’t think we are going to see anything crazy here and I full expect the Tigers to cover this number against a team who really doesn’t have any business being on the same field as them.
The Tigers will be up early and then will just hold the ball and run up the score against what will be an exhausted Redhawks defense.
