The Illinois Fighting Illini will trying to snap a three game losing streak this Saturday when they play host to the Purdue Boilermakers at Memorial Stadium in Champaign Illinois.
After winning their season opener against Murray State, Illinois has been beaten by North Carolina, Western Michigan, and Nebraska.

The Purdue Boilermakers have gone back and forth between wins and losses this season and will need to win this Saturday in order to keep their record above .500 for the season.
The Boilermakers were unable to get anything rolling on either side of the ball last weekend and were blown out by the Maryland Terrapins 50-7.
Illinois Fighting Illini
The Fighting Illini were able to score more points in their season opener against Murray State than they have in their three games since.
They haven’t lost four straight since 2013 and will need the offense to pull things together if they want to keep that form happening on Saturday.
Quarterback Wes Lunt has completed over 61 percent of his passes this season with 798 yards and six touchdowns compared to only one interception.
He hasn’t been able to throw the ball for multiple touchdowns in 7 of his last 11 games.

The running game hasn’t added much relief for the Illinois offense this year.
The Fighting Illini average 149 yards per game, led by Kendrick Foster with three touchdowns and 221 yards on the season.
The defense could also use a player or two to step up and show off this week. As a unit, they are giving up 29 points per game and a total of 371.8 yards
Purdue Boilermakers
The Boilermakers will try again this week to break their losing streak on the road which has now reached nine games.
Quarterback David Blough has been able to throw for 1,078 yards, but has also thrown seven picks compared to only six touchdown passes. He has been able to complete a pass for six points in seven of his last eight games.

Purdue has averaged 135 yards on he ground per game this season behind the 339 yards of running back Markell Jones. The Boiler defense will have a great opportunity to improve their stats as a unit this week against Illinois.
They are currently allowing an average of 31.5 points to be scored each week off of a total of 414.8 yards a game.
The one thing that Purdue does have going for them is the fact that they have beaten the Fighting Illini in three of the previous five meetings.
NCAA Football Handicapping Trends
- Purdue is 1-4 against the spread in their last five games.
- The Boilermakers are 1-4-1 during their previous 6 matchups against the spread when playing a team with a losing record.
- The Fighting Illini are 5-2 against the spread in their previous 7 games in the month of October.
The Under is 8-1 in Illinois last 9 games played at home.
Free Week 6 NCAA Football Prediction
Illinois has had some difficulty as of late finding the endzone and even though Purdue hasn’t great with the ball on offense, they could jump out to an early lead in this one.
The road team has won the last four games between the two schools and I think that is a trend that will continue after this week.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Purdue +8
I believe the spread in this one says more about the Boilermakers losing streak on the road than it does the Fighting Illini’s ability to beat Purdue.
The game will be close and stay under 53.5 points, but I look for Purdue to win outright and snap losing sneak away from their home field.
