Tough, hard-nosed blue collar football is what you can expect in this battle of teams from the Keystone State.

Penn State comes into this game after a good win against a weak Kent State team, while Pittsburgh defeated Villanova but not as decisively as one would expect.
Penn State Nittany Lions
Although QB Trace McSorley threw 2 touchdowns with zero interceptions, you can hardly say he had a good game.
He was only 16 for 31 against an over-matched Kent St. defense. He also had a fumble that was returned for a score.
Saquon Barkley had a good game on the ground going 22 for 105 yards and a TD. Expect him to do more of the same against a good Pittsburgh defense.

On the defensive side of the ball you can’t ask for much more than the performance they put on last week. The pass rush got 7 sacks, helped force 2 interceptions, and kept the Kent St. offense out of the end zone.
They will need to shore up the run defense as they gave up 6.3 yards per carry to Kent St. RB Justin Rankin.
Pittsburgh Panthers
Week 1 was all about the return of James Conner. One of the best running backs in the ACC in 2014 had to sit out the 2015 season.
He came back last week and is still getting his legs under him, rushing for only 53 yards against Villanova but getting into the endzone.
The passing game didn’t get much going as QB Nathan White only threw for 175 yards against a defense that he should have carved up.
They will need much better play out of him in order to win against Penn St.

The defense played as expected against a lower level opponent.
They held Villanova to 119 yards passing while also getting 6 sacks and forcing 2 turnovers. I expect the defense to have a tougher time this week.

Free Week 2 NCAA Football Prediction
Both teams come off of easy Week 1 victories.
The quality of competition increases significantly Penn should be able to dominate both sides of the ball. The Pittsburgh offense will struggle moving the ball, giving a shorter field to McSorley and the Nittany Lions.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Penn St ATS and the Under.
The Penn St. defense will keep their hot start going. It won’t be out of the question for them to get 5 or more sacks in this game.
James Conner will have a stronger outing this time going over 100 yards, but Pitt’s QB play will be its downfall.
Expect McSorley to have another “game manager” type of game, and protect the ball all afternoon, leading to an easy Penn St. victory.
