Marshall comes in after knocking off the Florida Atlantic Owls 33-17 to win their 4th straight game.
North Texas
This has already been a season to forget for North Texas. After firing their head coach, things got no better for them last Thursday against the Hilltoppers. The Mean Green fell 55-28, but did at least walk away with a little pride.
The Mean Green showed some fight by finishing off the game with 2 4th quarter touchdowns. They even made their backers happy as they covered as 34 point underdogs.

QB DeMarcus Smith went 17 for 35 in the loss and tossed for 228 yards and 4 touchdowns to just 1 interception. He also added 122 rush yards on 16 carries as he showed off his dual threat ability. The Mean Green average 348.2 yards per game this season.
The performance from Smith was very encouraging as the Mean Green have struggled to find a steady QB this year.
Smith has thrown for 5 touchdowns to 2 interceptions, but is completing just 43.4 percent of his passes. Andrew McNulty is completing 46.4 percent of his passes and has thrown for 3 touchdowns to 4 interceptions.
Marshall
Marshall can look at what their rival Western Kentucky did to the Mean Green last week and realize they should do just about the same.
Marshall improved to 3-0 in the East as they’ve now won 4 straight. Marshall’s defense continues to step up as they’re averaging just 17.4 points against and 360.6 yards against.

Offensively, Marshall is led by QB Chase Litton. The freshman has thrown for 970 yards on the year and has racked up 11 touchdowns to just 4 interceptions.
What has been most successful this season has been the Marshall run game. They are averaging 173.4 yards on the ground and come in off a game that saw them rush for 326 yards. Leading the charge was RB Hyleck Foster.
Foster rumbled for 122 yards on 17 carries and added a touchdown to his credit. Also adding to the RB mix this season has been Devon Johnson. He leads the team with 555 yards and has 6 total touchdowns.

Free Week 8 NCAA Football Prediction
North Texas is just a bad team. They finally got some good QB play, but Marshall is just right with Western Kentucky. After what the Hilltoppers did to North Texas, Marshall should be able to something similar to that.
