Navy found themselves in a new spot last week playing in a conference title game. They lost to Temple and did not look good doing it.
They are in another rare spot this week playing their final game, against Army, before they go bowling (which is nothing new).
They have won three bowl games in a row.

La Tech won the CUSA West Division before falling to Western Kentucky in the title game.
That loss means they enter bowl preparations with back to back losses. The gap might do them some good but most bowl teams enter with more momentum.
They have won their last two bowl games in a row so somebody’s streak is coming to an end.
Navy Midshipmen
This is a good Navy team but they laid an egg in the AAC title game against Temple. They were not only beaten, but battered as several key offensive pieces left the game early due to injury.
The biggest is QB Will Worth.
He is not as dynamic as others who have helmed Navy but he led the team in rushing and scored 25 TDs. Backup Zach Abey may be a sophomore but he has not seen much game action.
Their most explosive runner, Toneo Galley, also left last week’s game and did not return. Despite the injuries Navy will not alter their approach on offense.

On defense Navy did not have many answers for a balanced Temple attack.
This group is usually undermanned when it comes to physicality and is definitely not the type of group that is going to get the ball back for the offense if they are playing from behind.
La Tech is a throw first team that could give them a lot of problems, especially if the offense is not setting the pace of the game.
Louisiana Tech Bulldogs
Skip Holtz has done a good job building up his credibility at Louisiana Tech. This is their third bowl in a row and they feature one of the most prolific passing attacks in college football.
His name gets bandied about some time but odds are he stays put in Ruston for now which means we can expect the Bulldogs to be what we have seen all season long.
QB Ryan Higgins threw for 502 yards in the CUSA title game loss. This was his first year as a starter in the system which has become plug and play under Holtz.

It is the defense that usually holds back this group. In only one of their losses did they give up less than 38 points and they surrendered 58 last week to Western Kentucky.
One thing that bodes well is that they held Arkansas, another dominant running team to just 106 yards on the ground in the season opener.
The Razorbacks are not an option team so the approach is a little different but it is a positive indicator.
They have been solid against the run all season.

Free Armed Forced Bowl NCAA Football Prediction
This is a really tough one given all of the Navy injuries and the fact that they have a game this week to consider. Maybe the backup QB looks great with some actual preparation but what if he doesn’t.
I think it hard to really make a call on this one right now. Or at least buyer beware.
4* Free NCAA Betting Pick: Louisiana Tech +1.5
The knowns about the Bulldogs feel a lot better than Navy right now.
Sure they are coming off back to back losses but they are going to be able to move the ball against Navy and if the Middies run game is off just a smidge they just might blow them out.
After the game against Army take another look at this line of course. If the Middies lose again LT will quickly become the favourite.
